The article is well-aligned with my project and considers how information technology affects the quality of healthcare. The author argues that the use of information technology systems is critical if stakeholders are to improve service delivery in the medical sector and eliminate disparities.

The author of this article has been a nursing professor at California State University since 1982. Dr. Huston has served as the Director of the school since January 2010. Among other notable works, Dr. Huston has co-authored 16 editions of books on professional issues in nursing. From 2007 to 2009, the author was President of key institutions in the nursing practice.

The relevance of this article springs from the fact that it examines how advances in the information technology sector can change the practice of nursing. The author highlights challenges faced by stakeholders as far as integrating information technology in the nursing practice is concerned and goes ahead to suggest how these challenges may be addressed effectively by the concerned parties. In addition, the author identifies emerging technologies that can be used to transform the nursing practice.

My choice of the article is informed by the fact that it clearly points out the challenges that are faced by nursing practitioners when it comes to integrating information technology systems into the medical sector. Furthermore, the author proposes technological solutions that can be used to create a difference in the way nurses offer services to clients.

Written by Bates and Bitton, this article advocates for the use of information technology systems to increase the productivity of nursing practitioners. Besides being associated with vital nursing institutions, the authors are celebrated scholars in the medical sector.

The importance of this article springs from the fact that it focuses on how information technology systems can be used to ensure the effective management of medical records in patient-centered medical homes. The authors are convinced that an effective records management system is useful for tracking quality and efficiency as well as registry operations. In addition, the authors have argued that the use of information technology systems can help to strengthen teamwork in the medical sector.

The article also looks at how medical practitioners can take advantage of advances in technology to increase collaboration and teamwork in the medical field.
