Lesson Progress

Today’s textbooks have a lot of multimedia materials, just like everywhere else, no matter where you step foot. Graphic design surrounds us everywhere: when we look at company logos, posters, apps, and games. If the earliest computers could not perform half of the functions of a standard modern phone, now engaging in the practical study of computer graphics can even smartphone users. Technological progress forces people to explore new fields of activity as their demand increases.

There are two kinds of computer graphics: raster and vector, and they are very different. The raster image consists of many tiny pixels and is mainly used in modern pictures; the vector image is an exact geometric figure, but the scope of this type of graphics is much smaller. Vectors create precise shapes like building designs, drawings, and graphics. Despite the narrow range of vector graphics applications, it is also an integral attribute designers should work on, and we should pay attention to its existence.

Concerning the application of computer graphics in real life, it is undeniable that it surrounds humans everywhere. Among the most popular and necessary areas in this area now can be highlighted illustrative drawings, which are used in creating games. The gaming industry is developing every year, and users have more requirements to improve the quality of the picture. In addition, graphic designers must create computer models of architectural structures, logos, website prototypes, and presentations. Thus, computer graphics are gradually replacing outdated ways of visualizing information on paper, and very soon, it may affect all spheres of human life.

Summing Up the Results of the Lesson

As a result, students were asked to learn more about the history of computer graphics and their importance in the modern world. We have identified two main types of graphics used to create illustrations in different applications. Also, the teacher and students discussed the top prospects for the graphic designer and identified areas that have benefits for future work.
