Lack of Self-Care in Nursing and How to Address It Essay

Lack of self-care often occurs when people prioritize such life values as career or money. Even though my experience with self-care is different, I still feel that I need to implement more self-care activities in my life. A nurse’s job requires prioritizing patients’ interests, resulting in a lack of self-care. In combining studying with part-time work, I often limit my self-care activities to going to the gym or passive recreating activities, such as reading. Thus, I need to add more self-care activities that will focus on me actively doing something for myself. I am considering implementing more self-care activities in my daily routine, such as watching TV shows and movies while cooking for myself. In my opinion, in the modern world, one could just buy everything they want instead of taking time and doing it themselves. By cooking food for myself, I will separate the part of my day that will help me relieve the stress and worries. Lastly, by cooking, I can take care of myself and treat myself to my favorite food.
