Many historians believe strongly that Leonardo da Vinci revolutionized the world of art. Leonardo was a greater painter, architect, engineer, geologist, writer and musician (Cremante 38). Leonardo da Vinci is one of the greatest painters of all time. Leonardo’s inventive imagination made him a successful painter. The artist also defined new scientific theories. Such theories made it easier for many human beings to understand the universe much better. This paper offers a critique of Leonardo da Vinci.
Critique of the Artist
Leonardo was a great painter who produced a number of masterpieces. To begin with, Leonardo studied the universe in order to produce the best inventions (Cremante 47). This artist introduced new features that made his works unique. He also used dark and light paints skillfully. This approach made it easier for Leonardo to produce three-dimensional images (Cremante 38). He used different colors intelligently thus producing the best masterpieces.
Such aspects are notable in the painting “Benois Madonna”. This painting made him one of the best artists in Italy. The painting “The Amo Valley” also portrayed some of the best artistic styles. Most of Leonardo’s paintings presented unique features such as contrast, humor, satire, and focal point (Nicholl 47).
The artist also used value in most of his works. He also used the best colors to achieve something called tonal quality (O’Reilly 38). Leonardo’s used light and dark colors in order to produce the best tone. These achievements made him one of the most admirable Renaissance artists.
