This Unit plan is created to improve the skills and knowledge of Max in mathematics. To achieve this, the curriculum that Max will be going through has to be modified. These modifications will introduce new ideas and challenges to Max (Lorenzo et al, 2009).

As a result therefore, Max will be motivated and challenged while learning. At the same time, Max will get the chance to explore and implement his knowledge and capabilities by applying them in real life situations. All these have to be attained by through the implementation of this lesson plan.
To achieve the desired outcome for the project, this lesson plan is to be guided by a single goal that has several objectives which have to be achieved by the end of the exercise. The main goal for this lesson plan is that by August 2013, Max should be able to utilize numeric operations and concepts in solving mathematical problems. To ensure that this is achieved, Max is expected to score over 90% in a teacher-generated rubric.
For this goal, the following objectives have to be achieved:
- The student has to apply numeric procedures and concepts to solve mathematical problems.
- The student has to organize his information and present them before the class.
- The student must give a thorough explanation of mathematical reasoning behind his work.
This lesson plan aims at improving the performance of Max by modifying his curriculum in mathematics. He is expected to get vigorous training, evaluations and assessments in mathematics that will enable him to use complex concepts and numeric procedures while solving mathematical problems.
This will motivate the student and create more challenges in his education. At the same time, the exercise will work on exploring on his strengths and improving his weaknesses.
To ensure that the student understands the nature of the exercise, he should be briefed about the nature of the exercise and it requirements. The student should also be aware of the goals and objectives of the studies and the role he has to play to ensure that they are achieved.
A mathematical supporting class will be used to train and increase the knowledge and skills of the student in the subject. During this time, the student will be introduced to higher level of mathematics, trained on the various techniques and concepts of approaching mathematical problems and the different methods of solving them. During this exercise, Max will introduced to higher levels of algebra, calculus and geometry.
This exercise will improve the academic capabilities of Max by exposing him through various challenges.
Materials and other Resources Needed
A computer lab, stationeries and a library will be required for the exercise.
Career Exploration Lesson Plan Explanation
The exercise will take eight academic weeks to complete. This exercise will be conducted before and after normal classes and also during the weekends. The student will spend two hours a day working on the exercise; an hour before morning classes and an hour after the afternoon classes. This will provide a serine curriculum and learning environment for him.
During the first four weeks, Max will be on the theoretical part of the exercise. Here, he will learn the basic mathematical procedures of algebra, calculus and geometry. On the last three lesson, he will undertake a simple test for every topic. This will be done to show his level of improvement and the impact of the exercise (Orlich et al, 2009).
In the next two weeks, the student will be involved in intense training in the various fields of the exercise. He will be required to solve complex mathematical problems within a limited time. This will not only improve his performance but it will also improve his thinking capacity.
Towards the close of the exercise, the student will take a final test that will involve all the three fields of exercise. He has to score above 90% in a teachers generated rubric. After this has been completed, Max is required to organize a presentation about his problem solving techniques. He is expected to present this before the class.
