The first common thread peculiar to Liberationist Christianity is the reconsideration of the demands of faith towards the reduced tenability of rites and the necessity to follow doctrine and ritualistic practice. The belief introduced a new view emphasizing the critical role of the oppressed and suffering and the need to help them. One of the critical factors affecting the emergence of this threat was the social injustice particular to Latin America, poverty, and problematic relations between different groups. Under these conditions, a new view of religion emerged and became popular.

The second thread arose from the gap between poor and rich and the critical need to reconsider this situation. It implies the altered approach to charity, which should be viewed as a systematic action put in the first place and helping to resolve the problem of poverty. It also presupposes solidarity with the oppressed or people living in complex conditions and minorities. Being excluded from the existing system, people face social injustice, which is especially evident in Latin America, and this trend is viewed by Liberationist Christianity as a crucial one.

Finally, the belief does not accept the differentiation and separation between religion and politics. For Latin America, the Catholic church has always been one of the most powerful authorities, meaning that it is impossible to disregard this tool when struggling for the rights of the oppressed ones. That is why static forms were abandoned to establish new economic and political structures useful for society. These three threads are critical for the doctrine as they emerged as the response to the specific environment and situation in Latin America and focused on attempts to improve it by reconsidering some elements of religion.

Today, media acquires more and more power due to technological progress and the availability of information. Because of the emergence of new methods to interact with individuals, such as social networks and the Internet, media became a power shaping public opinion and playing a critical role in politics. Because of the growing significance of this tool, it should function as a watchdog ensuring the separation of powers, transparency, and legality of all processes occurring in the state. First of all, it has all resources and technologies that can help to accomplish the task and focus on some relevant problems that should be resolved. Media should remain free to preserve objectivity and avoid being controlled by one of the parties to promote its interests. Under these conditions, it will be able to monitor the functioning of different actors and ensure the absence of power abuse.

Moreover, the functioning of media as the fourth estate and its supervising function should be viewed as the guarantee that it is not employed by the dominant party to empower its position and attract new followers. Numerous political parties try to cooperate with different platforms, newspapers, and journals to promote ideas offered by them and avoid mentioning issues that might hurt them. However, the growing number of such cases will result in the corruption of democracy and transparency. For this reason, for nations struggling with the abuse of power, it is vital to ensure that media remains free and supervises all existing political parties to emphasize problems essential for the state and ensure fair debates and discussions. Today, it is a strong tool that can affect all layers of society, and it should help communities to evolve.
