The specifics of the environmental problem require, first and foremost, an increase in the self-awareness of numerous people. When leaders use mindfulness practices and can lead conversations, they can develop a healthy culture where others emulate the same qualities (Markman, 2016). Leaders must respond to events as they are, not as they perceive them. It means staying engaged, learning to anticipate circumstances, and appreciating the perceptions of others.

Solving environmental problems requires developing a new mindset in all people, overcoming the stereotypes of technocratic thinking and ideas about the inexhaustibility of natural resources. The absolute condition for the further existence of humankind is the observance of the ecological imperative as the basis for environmentally safe behavior in all spheres. It is necessary to overcome alienation from nature, awareness and implementation of personal responsibility, and competent application of leadership practices to increase the level of responsibility.
