Introduction

I am a teacher, who handles students in a pre-school class. Due to the nature of my career, I interact with students from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. In my class, five students are Hispanic, four of them are Asian, three are African, and ten are white. The interracial nature of my class exposes my students to a wide range of cultures and races from various parts of the world. From the setting that my class demonstrates, it is evident that there is a dire need for them to be acquainted with lessons on culture and its diversities.

In addition, to the unique interracial and multicultural setting of my class, the young students come from families that have varying religious orientations that comprise Islam, Christian, and Buddhism. It is within this context that the essay explains the essence of teaching all students on the aspects of culture and its diversities.

My lesson plan focuses on educating all the students about culture and its diversities. Fundamentally, all students regardless of their race, economic status, and religious backgrounds need to understand the importance of various cultural orientations that different students display in school. To avoid confusion and conflict among students in my class, I have to educate them on the components of culture.

The need to educate my students on the components of culture transpires from the fact that the varying cultures demonstrated by these students often result in confusion since each student views what others do as wrong or right. It is vital to note that as the trainer I have to create a productive environment that facilitates interaction and exchange of ideas among the students. By creating an interactive and productive environment, I will be in a good position to ascertain the various perspectives held by my students. Using the platform, I will easily and conveniently educate the students on various aspects of culture regardless of their ethnic backgrounds, economic status, and religious orientations.

Learning Style and Instructional Needs for My Students

Some of the styles that I will utilize include auditory, kinesthetic, and visual activities. Using auditory style, I will tell stories and show movies to the students on issues that increase unity and love among them. The stories and movies will be used in the process of developing a song, which will be the main idea used to bring the students together. The stories and films will focus on elements from various regions in the world. By sharing stories and films from various parts of the world, the importance of appreciating various cultures will be practical in the minds of my students. Besides the use of the auditory style, I will also employ and combine visual activities and kinesthetic learning styles.

The activities will comprise drawings, the use of symbols, images, and photographs from various parts of the world. In the process of training, I will occasionally encourage students to identify the photographs and draw images concerning what they think is right or wrong. Out of the style, I will pull out the perceptions of the students, and thus, employ the right method of educating them about culture and love.

Activities

Teachers and Students Working Together

In the activity, I will create two groups that will comprise seven students and one group, which will have eight students. In the groups, I will encourage the students to openly and liberally discuss and share what they believe is right and wrong. The discussions will focus on aspects of culture, religion, and equity in society. Since my class incorporates students from various lifestyles such as middle and low incomes, race, and religion, the amount of information that the students will share will be relatively high and diverse. As such, I will easily understand the existing perspectives that they have concerning one another and their backgrounds.

To advance the quality of information conveyed by the students, I will ensure that the groups are composed of students from different races. As the trainer, I will take charge of the selection and ensure that every group has a student from a different race and that no single group will be composed of students from a singular race.

The three groups will then train and learn the various sections of the song and work together to perfect the idea. To ensure that the students work in a productive manner, I will monitor their behaviors and encourage cooperation among them using the various styles of learning. Moreover, I will demystify all the negative perceptions and impressions, which the students can have towards a particular race or religion that society may have instilled in their minds. By demystifying the negative misinformation in the minds of the students, they will appreciate each other and work together. As a result, I will be in a good position of achieving my primary goal of encouraging the students to appreciate the different cultures and educating them on the various elements of culture and their respective diversities.

Engaging Students with Challenging Lessons

The activity will compose equal participation from all the students, who will have the opportunity of highlighting the various aspects of their culture, religion, and personal views. From the opportunity awarded to each student, others will argue and advance their perspectives concerning the existing diversities present in every culture and race.

It is imperative to highlight that the importance of educating and sharing the various components of culture emanates from the need to educate the students from different races on the significance of appreciating equity and unity. Out of the discussions, which will be free and liberal, the students will then understand that each race and community has a different belief and culture that they respect and uphold. In addition, the students will understand that they need to respect each other since no race is lesser than the other races in society.

Remarkably, by working together and interacting through the discussions and styles of learning, the students will get a different picture as opposed to misinformation that the society may have instilled in them concerning various races and religious orientations. For instance, if the society had instilled wrong information that some races are lesser than other races in the society, the students will get a different impression.

The different impression occasions because after working together to perfect the idea, which is a song, they will realize that all of them have equal capacities and skills. Therefore, my approach of using the activity will be effective in helping the students from all races to understand, respect, and love their different cultures and lifestyles. The activity will also help the students understand their unique settings, work together in a more productive manner, and collectively exchange ideas that facilitate academic success.

Developing Language and Literacy Skills across all Curriculums

According to the study of curriculum, students need to foster their learning by listening, speaking, writing, and reading. As such, my interactive activities will ensure that the students develop good attributes presented by the curriculum as they learn the various aspects of culture and its significance. Some of the important elements that will foster the elements of learning among the students include open and liberal discussions, which will encourage the students to speak and exercise their speaking and eloquence. Moreover, the freedom and encouragement to discuss openly will help the students develop good self-esteem that will help them advance their speaking

Skills and improve their academic standards. To help the students boost their writing abilities, I will encourage them to write some parts of the song that they are training in the quest to promote their writing skills. As a result, the students will not only advance their writing skills, but also increase their understanding of the elements of literature, and in turn, boost their academic levels.
