Organizational culture has an impact on the performance of a company. Typically, organizational culture involves behaviors, values, and norms of organization members. Thus, many companies have ensured that their cultures help in improving the performance of employees. For instance, the company I worked for ensured that all individuals exercised discipline and excellent communication. Gallup research and McNamara have focused on organizational culture and can provide data about the company cultures.

Analysis of Gallup research and McNamara Categories

The Gallup results fit my general expectations since they have focused on making the place of work outstanding. The research has revealed that matching the right person with the right job is one of the challenges organizations and managers face (“The People Group”). Therefore, managers should ensure that they identify talented workers and ensure that they utilize their skills to improve the organization’s performance. Involving employees in decision-making is also vital since more ideas are acquired. The research shows that all employees want to feel that they make significant contributions in their workplaces.

Based on my experience, the Gallup survey has vital information that can be applied in organizations. For instance, my workmates stated that they appreciated that the company valued them. The research also states that the best workplaces give their employees a sense of purpose. Thus, managers and leaders should encourage unity in the workplace and ensure that employees are respected. Educating workers about the mission of the company has also been analyzed in the research. Gallup survey has revealed that great managers continually strive to help employees understand the company’s purpose (“The People Group”). In essence, the survey has provided results that are essential for different businesses.

The Gallup results and McNamara information have analyzed similar things about my organization. For instance, both pieces have concentrated on how workers may have different perceptions of an organization’s culture. Thus, managers should ensure that they emphasize what is essential in the organization. According to McNamara (2000), communicating the organization’s goals can help improve the performance of a company. My organization has also ensured that goals are communicated, and managers talk about accomplishments to motivate workers. Appreciating employees has also been encouraged in both Gallup and McNamara, where rewarding employees has been emphasized.

The Gallup survey and the McNamara categories have helped me improve my managerial skills since they provided information including ways that managers can improve workers’ performance. For instance, I can encourage workers to focus on achieving their goals through hard work and teamwork. The results also show that my organization’s culture has played a significant role in improving employees’ performance. Focusing on discipline has enabled workers in my organization to work collectively. I can also ensure that I encourage workers to utilize their talents to achieve organizational and individual goals. Developing a culture that encourages unity is also essential in organizations. Thus, I can ensure that employees are united and focus on helping each other to improve their skills. Providing a stable environment, in which employees can develop and exercise their skills, has also been encouraged in academy culture (McNamara, 2000). Thus, I can encourage leaders and workers in my organization to ensure that the company has an excellent environment that can help improve workers’ performance.

Conclusion

The two sources have essential information that I can use to develop my performance at the workplace. Additionally, the audience can use the information provided to understand their organizations and to enhance their productivity. The sources also depict what is needed to analyze a company’s culture. For instance, the survey has focused on managerial skills and how managers can impact employees’ performance. Issues such as employee motivation and appreciation have been included in the sources to show how companies can increase their profits. Thus, the sources are crucial and have vital information regarding company performance and culture.
