Executive Summary

The significance of social network is hard to underrate. Though the phenomenon is comparatively young, it has already become one of the key tools for carrying out fast, cheap and efficient marketing campaigns. Which is even more important, the use of social networks as a marketing tool allows for reaching to nearly every single social or age group, which is essential for marketing products in the entertainment industry.

Though Parmalee, an innovative country bad, seems to have everything to become successful in the realm of the entertainment industry, it still lacks a decent representation in media, which can be carried out by putting a stronger emphasis on its new forms as the key promotion tools. Though Parmalee is a music band, it will be crucial to integrate a range of well thought out and impressive imagery for the audience to relate to and to associate with the band, since most of the modern media is represented by visual content in the first place. As soon as Parmalee integrates such modern forms of media as social networks, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in the first place, it will be possible for the band to design a memorable and colorful promotion campaign. In addition, the fact that a promotion campaign based on the active use of social networks and the related tools is comparatively cheap next to the existing alternatives. Therefore, it is imperative that the social networks band should base its advertising strategy on the use of social networks.

Introduction of Music Selection

Parmalee is one of the artists, who have an impressive potential, yet remain in the shadow of the brand names that have been advertised in a more successful manner. The artists, though working in a rather common genre, have a distinctly unique music style and are obviously capable of changing the country music by introducing new elements to it and, therefore, helping it evolve. However, because of the lack of efficient promotion strategy, the group may experience a range of obstacles in promoting its music to the target audience.

It should be noted, though, that the recent technological breakthrough and the emergence of new forms of media may help advertise the group, therefore, making it easily recognizable and popular among the people enjoying country music. Because of the necessity to avoid the possible costs for the promotion campaign, it will be most reasonable to consider free services allowing for making the band well known. Among the key promotion tools, social networks should be mentioned specifically (Baruah, 2012). Though social networks have been around only for a comparatively short period of time, they have already proven to be one of the most powerful means of information transfer.

According to the latest data, most people prefer communicating virtually via social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter, to live communication (Fowdar, 2013). Such tendency may be considered as negative from a sociological point of view, yet, from a marketing perspective, social networks seem to be the treasure trove that needs to be utilized properly so that the Parmalee band could succeed. More to the point, it is crucial that most of the modern media content, though not all, is represented by images, and Instagram is one of the graphic examples of such tendencies. For the Parmalee band to carry out the advertising campaign successfully, it will be necessary to incorporate social networks and the latest technological advances, therefore, appealing to both the younger audience and the people belonging to the older generation.
