In order to maintain a positive relationship with yourself and to increase your confidence and self-esteem, self-care is essential. Self-care is also necessary to remind you that you and your needs are important as well as those of others. My three habits about self-care are knowing when to rest, mediation and journaling.
Many of us are aware of our need for rest, but we find it difficult to allow ourselves to take it because we may feel guilty or that there is too much to get done. But I am now learning to take a break from digital world. I try to reduce my screen time in the afternoon, getting some fresh air, or taking a full day off of work and media to do the things that make me feel more relaxed. This helps me to understand myself better and be stress-free. My second habit is mediation and I practice it daily. I enjoy the process as my mind is resting and I do not think about my current problems. The sensation of quiet, peace, and balance that meditation brings help me to sustain physical and emotional health. By concentrating the attention on something peaceful, I can utilize it to unwind and manage stress. You can learn to keep your focus and maintain inner serenity by practicing meditation. You can go through your day with more calm if you practice meditation. Additionally, meditation may aid in the management of certain medical conditions’ symptoms.
My third habit that I like is journaling daily or whenever I want. I better monitor my intents when I write my journal to list the objectives. This assists me in maintaining accountability and act as a reminder of what I must do to achieve them. Here, it is important to be detailed. I also feel a significant confidence boost from observing my progress through journaling.
