Summary
Search engine optimization (SEO) is a set of activities on the site’s development, directed at increasing a website’s visibility in search engines for targeted search queries. The higher website traffic, the more likely companies are to draw potential and existing customers to the business. Thus, this paper aims at selecting, examining, and comparing specific related products in terms of SEO. The focus of this paper is placed on firms that manufacture smartphones, namely, Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and HTC.
What is Happening with the 5-year Trend and Why?
Over the past 5 years, Apple has demonstrated low but comparatively stable popularity dynamics. It is worth noting that interest in Apple jumped in September of each year, which can be conditioned by the release of new models, but these jumps’ peak values gradually decreased (Google trends, n.d.). Samsung, especially the Galaxy model, is experiencing an insignificant drop in popularity, while Xiaomi has managed to increase noticeably. Huawei also showed some growth for the last 5 years, especially by the first quarter of 2019. The worst dynamics belong to HTC, the popularity of which dropped substantially.
Regional Differences
Apple occupies the market share that belongs to English-speaking countries, primarily the United States, Canada, and Australia, which is evidently stipulated by this firm’s origin. Samsung is the most interested in Bangladesh, Guana, and Nepal since this brand focuses on the relatively free markets of developing countries (Chang et al., 2019). Xiaomi is popular in Eastern Europe and the Far East, such as Ukraine, Chech, and Bangladesh, because its products’ price is the most affordable and advantageous in these regions (Lu, 2017). Finally, Huawei takes the same strategy as Samsung, while HTC is attractive only to poor countries.
Analyze the Results and Assess What Relevance This Might Have in Understanding SEO
The given results reflect specific trends in the markets and interest in smartphone manufacturers, namely Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and HTC. Regarding SEO, based on these findings, marketers can track demand and queries in various countries. This is because search engines scan billions of pieces of content and assess numerous factors to determine which content is the most appealing to a particular audience (Muller, & the Moz staff, n.d.). Hence, considering the results, one can provide and adjust the content that will deliver high website traffic, thereby generating profit.
