Finally, IT allows companies to reach competitive advantage, as alters the structure of the industry, provides new ways to outperform competitors and spawns new business. To meet these goals, organizations should create value chains that reveal how IT can be used to benefit them. To reach competitive advantage, companies should focus on the opportunity to alter their relationships with revivals, customers, and suppliers. As IT affects business offerings, it can also influence relationships with stakeholders.

In this way, the author concludes that IT is powerful enough to affect the successfulness of business and its competitiveness. Even though it requires investment, IT ensures reduction of expenses and affects employees, processes, and innovation. It is also vital to ensure that IT is aligned with the overall business goals for the maximization of its advantages.
