The given program, Role Transition to Professional Nursing, allowed me to master at least three essential ideas. Firstly, more professional nurses draw more attention to political issues and technology use. A BSN degree provides individuals with more theoretical information regarding care delivery. Secondly, I have understood that patients require a multi-faceted approach to achieve the expected outcomes. It is important to draw attention to physical, social, and economic determinants of health. Thirdly, the program has taught me that it is possible and necessary to learn how to become a leader. Effective leadership is crucial because it is necessary to guide patients and other healthcare professionals.
Now, I understand that it is challenging to overestimate the role of the professional nurse. Nurses with BSN degrees perform significant functions that directly impact the delivery of care. The primary task is to apply the best theoretical and practical standards to address patient needs and improve their health. Simultaneously, these professionals are responsible for designing and coordinating patient care, serving as a leader, and utilizing effective communication with various stakeholders. Even though the list is not exhaustive, it is evident that the activities are critical for patient care.
The program has helped me to learn cultural competence. Now, I know that it is reasonable to carefully select my actions and words when I interact with representatives of various backgrounds. I will additionally rely on the gained knowledge to understand what other people’s behavior denotes because it varies in different cultures (Sharifi et al., 2019). This statement denotes that I need to master much theoretical information about diversity. I believe that this activity is justified because it will contribute to my professional growth.
