It is hard to disagree that today’s world and people are much more welcoming, tolerant, and accepting than years before. However, there is not enough diversity in workplaces, communities are still not completely inclusive, and there is a place for discrimination and deprivation of human rights. These are just some issues that our company fights against. Thus, the mission of United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County is to promote equality and justice, eliminate racism, and allow everyone to achieve their happiness and full potential. Consequently, this is how we help the community and support the whole world.
It may be quite evident from our website that we value everyone, notwithstanding their age, gender, race, income, and other characteristics, and want to improve their lives. United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County considers it vital to prepare young children for life, help students find themselves and succeed, foster self-efficacy for families and individuals, and support persons in crisis and difficult times. Even when we also face significant challenges, we never give up on those who need our help. Notwithstanding reduced funding, employee shortage, or even bad weather, it is always our duty to improve the everyday experiences of other individuals and give them care, hope, and chances for a brighter future.
Overall, our projects aimed at enhancing the community’s lives are not limited to:
- Dual Generation Initiatives
- Healthy Outcomes through Prevention & Early Support (HOPES)
- ReadyKidSA
- Child Care Scholarships
- and some other effective initiatives.
We, as a company, promise that people can feel safer, hopeful, equal, and more significant as we exist. To foster our work, we accept donations, organize events and membership groups, and attract volunteers. For example, lately, we have received donated funds to support the families and survivors of the Robb Elementary shooting. By uniting the community and allowing humans to see and eliminate our common issues, we empower them and prove that it is possible to change the world for the better.
