This portfolio is an illustration of my growth as not only a student, but more importantly as an educator of the Spanish language. It underlines my philosophy of education in unison with my vision and beliefs. The information incorporated here reflects on my abilities. My journey of becoming a teacher through the program has been pronounced with several accomplished practices in all areas of teaching, including evaluation, precise methods of communication and continuous improvement, not only of the student, but also the self, though self discipline, self learning and research.
The program has honed my critical thinking skills and polished my perspective on cultural diversity, which is so essential for a language teacher. Ethics, human development and learning go hand in hand, and the program has strengthened my competencies in all of these areas as they relate to education and teaching. The portfolio contains several artefacts which show my mastery of the accomplished practices, demonstrating the knowledge of my teaching competencies.
The program made me proficient in several areas of education which are necessary for being an able and influential teacher. While I gained tremendously from the completion of the master’s degree program, there are several areas in which I benefitted tremendously. Some of these include planning courses independently and designing lesson plans according to the level and preparedness of students. The portfolio showcases my proficiency as a teacher in the educational environment and how I am able to employ the best teaching practices using technology in the classroom. The portfolio reflects the accomplishments providing a glimpse of detailed and comprehensive nature of the course, which will be the crux of all my teaching.
