Introduction
Hard economic times have led to the need for many individuals to acquire higher education in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. One unique characteristic about education is that it does not have boundaries when it comes to age. People can always further their studies as far as they want regardless of age so long as their fees are financed. Primarily, one should have the driving force or rather the urge to pursue higher learning.
Thus, not everyone takes education out of interest but because of obligation. There are people who can pay their own school fees by working while others have to depend on others. The objective of this paper is to discuss how attitudes toward education differ among students who work to finance their own education and students who do not. In Texas, those who study in mission schools are encouraged to finance their own education (Marsh, p.368).
Fundamentally, students who work to finance their fees tend to be more serious with their education than those who do not. Students who finance their education are more concerned with the number of fees they pay, unlike the other students who may not care. Students who finance their own fees are more responsible than students who do not pay their fees. Students who pay their fees are always time cautious than students who do not pay fees. The reason for these attitudes is because students who pay own their fees normally feel the pinch of using their salary. On the other hand, students who do not finance their education always tend to have an ‘I don’t care attitude’. Students who do not pay fees seem to be reluctant because they do not use their own money to finance education (Marsh 368).
Difference Between Students Who Pay Their Own Fees and Those Who Do Not
Students who pay their own fees are more serious as they are more hard-working than those who do not pay for their education (Marsh 368). When it comes to classwork, students who pay their fees will always try to perfect their assignments. On the other hand, students who do not pay fees may be lazy around when it comes to assignments. Unlike students who pay their own fees, students who do not pay fees like joking a lot even when it comes to serious issues. Students who pay their fees will normally strive to attain the best results because they know the money they are using. Students who finance themselves are always cautious of the number of fees they pay. They are concerned with every detail concerning the fees because they are the ones to pay. Students who do not pay fees are less concerned when it comes to fees because they know someone else is to pay. For instance, if there was an increment in the fees, students who finance themselves would react faster than those who do not pay. Students who pay their fees are more responsible because they can budget for what they earn considering that they finance education. Students who do not pay fees may not be responsible as they may not care how they use their pocket money. Students who finance themselves are time cautious because they work with time, unlike the others who have all the time after classes.
Conclusion
Students who work to pay their fees are better off than students who do not pay their fees. This is because students who finance themselves are able to tackle life challenges better than those who do not pay their fees. Students who do not pay fees may find life difficult in case they were used to other dependants who may never finance them forever.
