Description of the situation
A young man aged 37 from Ras Alkhaymah died and the cause of his unprecedented death was blamed on the Scroll wheel game. He was hit by a falling piece of the machine when he was walking in close proximity to where the machine was situated. He was in the company of his friends who recounted the event with a lot of pain. Everyone was busy trying to unearth what had really transpired causing the breakdown of the machine
As the police probes went on, three men were arrested, one of them being the owner of the company, and were charged with committing murder without premeditation (Three arrested over global village Ferris wheel death, 2013). Every activity that was taking place in the global village was temporarily stopped to pay tribute to the dead young man. Passersby gazed and wondered how a man would die while on what seemed to be a holiday. The entire place was shut down and the police were conducting a forensic study on the dead body.
How did the company react?

The piece of decoration seemed to have fallen off hitting the victim so hard on the head that he collapsed immediately and died. This information was relayed by the police in charge of the operation at the crime scene who were adamant that the death was not caused by a faulty game machine.
What the company should have done
The company responded promptly and their response was a clear indication that the management was acting in good faith. It showed how much the company was willing to take responsibility for the actions of its employees. However, instead of sending a representative to the scene, the best course of action that the management would have done was to call the police first. In a case where a civilian is involved in an accident that leads to death, calling the police is the best thing to do.
It was not until the police arrived that the real cause of death was established. The miscommunication and contrasting accounts on exactly what happened was due to lack of information and was based on assumptions. Only the police can verify and uncover the real truth in cases like this where everybody has their own version of what had happened.
