The nickname of crimson tide originated with the 1907 iron bowl, which occurred after a rainy day. The Auburn was favored to win had to accept a tie with Alabama after the hard fight game that was played. In describing the game then it was given the name of the crimson tide, which was in reference to the crimson jerseys, which moved in the field during that time of rain. There was the name of UA mascot which is an elephant and was called Big AL were the name came from the contest that took place in the wets wide of the campus in the 1970s. The million-dollar band is the distinction of appointing the first female in college marching band director who led to the group until her retirement.
In the evening before there was the home football then there was a pep rally that was held on the quad at which there was an enormous bonfire ignited and the day of the homecoming a parade was held which run straight behind the quad. Before the home game began there was a video that was sent showing the famous play from Alabama history which had the voice of the founder of this team that is the bear Bryant and the after the victories over Tennessee then the football team was able to enjoy its victory. The first game was played in Birmingham on Friday in the year 1892 and had opposition from different high schools in the country but the Alabama team won the competition. In the early time, the team was thought that the current squads when it played and lost 5-4 when Ross of BAC made a kick a 65-yard field goal. Their gridiron sport was made the favorite athlete in the University of Alabama after it gained the students fancy. In the following year, there was an open game that was played and in 1898 the football was abandoned in Alabama. Alabama first gained national recognition in 1922 when it was able to defeat Pennsylvania and in the following season wade became the head coach and in 1925 he led to crimson tide undefeated and untied season and its first invitation by rose bowl was made. This football game was more than a game because it changed the south this was due to the players that were involved in such play were well trained and able to play as a team. The athletic teams that are in Alabama are crimson tide where the field teams are in many varsity sports in the NCAA Division 1 and a competitive member in the western division. The school athletic team competes at the highest level where they seek conference and NCAA titles. There are several facilities on the campus, which involve the Bryant Denny stadium named after the bear Bryant and Coleman coliseum. Alabama has maintained athletic rivalries with other universities that are Auburn University and the University of Tennessee. With Auburn, there is encompassing of all the sports and the game is seen to be very intense in such places. The Alabama Tennessee game was played on the third Saturday, which was taken as a tradition and had the title the third Saturday in October was given to the competition.
The game in Tennessee was centered on football for the most part where there was no shortage of acrimony and a record of relationship to the tide most recent NCAA probation existed. In the 1961 national championship – the Alabama team had the name of national champions but it was one national poll, in 1964 national championship -Alabama had an award for the national championship, which was given before they played the orange bowl, but the Alabama team lost this game to Texas. In the 1965 national championship – Alabama had an award from AP national championship in which it had a good record during that time with other three teams. In the 1973 national championship- Alabama had an award from UPI national championship, which was given before a bowl game loss to Notre Dame and it finished as the fourth in that competition.
In 1978 national championship- Alabama had an award from that 1978 AP national championship after it had finished with a record where it was defeated by USC, in 1979 national championship- Alabama was the first national championship and in 1992 it becomes the second unanimous national championship. This team has recently played its 55th bowl game with different players. In the quarterbacks, Alabama has been able to win the first three super bowls where notable Alabama players had led the team through the game successfully. After the death of bear Bryant Alabama has been able to attain high points and low points where after the retirement of this man they have had eight different head coaches. The tide won its last championship in 1992, which was against the University of Miami hurricanes. After the retirement of gene Stallings in 1996, there was a defensive coordinator who was named mike, D, and was the head coach. He proved to be excellent in recruiting defensive linemen but been a head coach he was not effective enough to lead to team to win the competition. Their expectations rose when the tide started with high points that but it later dropped and losing to Central Florida. With the media –sway then the team gained popularity quickly due to the coaching style that was adopted by the coach and led Alabama to two winning seasons which was in 2001-2002. After the sanctions of the NCAA then Francine resigned to be the coach and the Alabama team had another coach was Shula. This coach experienced hard times because it was his first time to become a head coach but the team had improvements later where it was able to have a record of 6-6 in the music city bowl, which was attained after three years. The season started with high promise as the tide rolled but injuries occurred to the entire starting backfield, which was after the chances for success.
Alabama was able to make its first recruitment in 2005 after it had received high penalties that resulted from the illegal recruiting tactics that were used by the NCAA leading to the imprisonment of the coach at that time for three years. The team also lost scholarships and was banned from bowl games for two years with five years of probation. In 2005 Alabama rolled to 10-2 records, which included a 13-10 win but failed to defeat Auburn University for the forth-straight time. The tide had trouble because of the injuries that were made to the best target players and the poor play that was done on the offensive line. The team opened the season in which it was able to have a record of 9-0, which involved the beating that was done to Tennessee volunteers and the Florida gators. In 2006 it was a year of rebuilding that made changes to different players due to failures of low record and it lost about eight points to conference opponents who were from Arkansas and other universities. This led to the firing of the coach who was at that time and made an election of another coach. Shula completed his career in Alabama where the team lost to Auburn four times in a row. In the year 2007, the university hired another coach from Miami dolphins to replace mike but this coach signed a contract with the tide which required high amounts of money about $120 billion. In 2008 Alabama had a record of number 1 recruiting class where there was two recruiting respected organization, which involved the scout and rivals. Nick Saban had a humbling defeat that was made by this team and This coach had a description of the team in that he said the change would be seen after a kind of catastrophic event and this was seen when the team was able to win and led to change of the spirit of American in relation to this catastrophic changes that had occurred during that time. The spokesman chose 9/11 and Pearl Harbor in making the description of the pivotal week for the crimson tide. The Alabama 6-5,4-3 southern eastern conference was ready to face the greatest rival, which was recorded as number 25 Auburn. The tide was seen as the spot that led to the stairway visits to the tigers whereby the team had lost many and it was in danger of losing the bowls and having a record that was different from its history. The defeat that had occurred in the team was a low point, which followed on the hell of losses to number 1 LSU and Mississippi states. This led Saban to have another non-football analogy and the players have to change and have the spirit of commitment so that they could be able to come up with the change that was evident so that they could be able to retain their popularity. The tide has the off-field troubles in addition to the times that were disappointing to them in the last cases there were five players who were suspended for the past game that had been played and thus brought a bother to the coach because the team was losing with high challenges been faced therefore there was the indication that the team would lose the play and would never be popular again. Therefore the need to have changes made in players and has practiced as the only solution so that they could be able to retain their popularity and be able to play and win more competitions. The tide players had struggled to put the loss in perspective so that they could have the right change been made. Alabama was favored by about 24 points in the game but the mistakes that were made included the turnover and blocked field goal and the three losses in Louisiana had affected the team very much as they saw that they were in danger of losing the game and the popularity been taken by the other universities in which they competed with other universities. It is seen that this team of Alabama had the record of having won many of the games that were played and losses that acquired were dealt with so that they could retain their popularity. This was to be made on the coach and players were they were able to supplement the old player with other young players who could play and make the team attain its popularity. That is why this team has a high history of how it began and all through with the challenges and problems that have been faced it is able to remain a strong team in the country. This is because the players are able to play as a team therefore they can easily like amendments that will; lead to its success in different competitions that it is called to compete. According to a record that was made the statistics show that the team has been able to have a total of 18 games been played with 8 been won and making a loss of 10 games and the win percentage has been about 0.4%. This is a statistic of the football score versus the Alabama where there has been different coach and competition been held in different places. Many writers have a record of the challenges that are faced by Alabama and how they have been able to go through all these problems. This means that with the true spirit and unity then changes can be made which leads to the success of the team regardless of the challenges and mistakes that are made by the players. (Bryant, 1998)
With all the challenges and failures that have been faced by the Alabama team the history still holds that this team has been able to play and win many plays after the time it was started. This is because the team has had many coaches who had different styles and this meant that the team was able to make changes in several places that seem to be weak so that it can lead to winning the race. The reason for their winning is due to the changes to their players and coach so that they can know how to undertake their competition in the right manner. This means that the team will retain its popularity all through so that the country has the fame that the player is well trained and have the right coach even after the retirement of the founder.
