It is essential to mention that “introduction to literature” is a subject that allows me to expand my personal vision not only of the literary world but also of the world’s perception in general. Thus, I had high hopes for this course and hoped that learning the basics of writing would enhance my skills. Moreover, I wanted to acquire the skills of a writer that would allow me to communicate perfectly with others and create quality content. Therefore, I expected that after completing the “Introduction to literature” course, I would be able to create properly constructed texts for specific audiences independently.

At the beginning of the course, I immediately discovered that I have an innate professional view inherent in writers. The writer’s view is the ability to notice important details that make up a situation, an image, or a life. It is the ability to observe and draw conclusions and to notice what others do not pay attention to. Accordingly, the writer’s view helped me describe people and their relations, elements of the surrounding world, and the world itself. Besides, it serves as a source of new, interesting ideas. However, I realized that I need to improve my writing ability, which is the capacity to process what I have seen, heard, and felt, follow the cause-and-effect relationships, and draw conclusions. Therefore, this is essential in order to describe the experience and find the right words for it.

It is worth noting that the classroom lessons improved my writing and research process. Thus, I realized that I need to research the material first and look for additional information if I want to describe certain events in literature. Moreover, now I can analyze literary works, taking into account certain features of their writing that influenced the authors. For example, their personal experiences or social situations can influence the fact that the author chooses a certain topic and style in the works. Furthermore, the writing process itself is also now an important activity for me and requires preparation. Accordingly, I now organize my workplace in order to feel comfortable writing and get inspired. Also, I now allocate time for writing ideas and then try to create a draft, which I edit after some time. Accordingly, this allows me to introduce new ideas and remove those that are repeated or not typical in a literary work. In this way, I try to gradually and qualitatively create material, thanks to the writing and research process that became available to me during this course.

In addition, during this course, I gained valuable experience that I did not receive while studying other subjects. Above all, I realized that the willingness to learn constantly is essential for a writer. It is because writing is not only a job; it is a constant study. At the same time, it is important to study in several directions at once (Cargill and O’Connor 45). From my own experience, that is to re-read old stories or novels, look for mistakes, and consider how to correct them. Furthermore, other people’s opinions are also crucial for learning; listening to critics and reviewers is required to enhance my skills constantly. Secondly, in this course, I realized that I needed to create my writing style. At first, creating content on the same topic may seem convenient, but it will allow me to develop creativity (Cargill and O’Connor 45). By changing the recurring issue to different niches, I improved my ability to think critically and change my writing style in every piece of content I create. Moreover, I need to practice creating or describing subjects holistically or from different perspectives to acquire these writing experiences.

Therefore, in the future, I will use the knowledge I have gained in this course. Introduction to literature was an impetus for me to understand the basic categories that every writer needs to know. Accordingly, I will continue working to create my personal style and constantly study new topics to improve my skills. Furthermore, in the future, I will need to learn about the writing process in order to create proven and high-quality material that does not require additional editing.

It is important to note that while studying this course, I got sick and took a test for Covid 19. My result was negative, but I was still sick for several weeks because I constantly worried about my health. During that period, the course was studying writing and research, which is why I had problems with writing strategies. Accordingly, I later needed to repeat the material that other students studied in class. Hence, I independently mastered the mandatory steps that a writer must take to produce a quality paper. Despite the illness, I was able to learn this material on my own and not delay the development of the program.

Meanwhile, it appears to me that I did not work to my full potential during the course. Therefore, in the future, I need better time management in order to pay more attention to the writing tasks that need to be done at home. I hope that in the future I will be able to attend more courses related to the improvement of writing skills and even enroll in additional courses on the study of literature of different eras outside of college. Therefore, I expect that I will be successful in creating professional texts that can be published in newspapers and magazines.
