Due to the unstable economic situation through to the spread of the pandemic, the basic principles of business have changed. Thus, companies began to adapt to the needs of the market. Even though people were isolated in the home, they cut demand for household goods and beauty products. Moreover, a large number of personalities stopped visiting stores and began to use online shopping services. Accordingly, firms quickly responded and launched settings that provide online shopping and ordering services (Fabius et al., 2021). Furthermore, platforms that provided the ability to communicate via video, which brought people closer while they were isolated at home, gained high popularity. Thus, corporations need to pay attention to the development of technology, as customers are actively practicing online services.
An essential conclusion for me is that workers can operate effectively at home. In order to stop the extent of the pandemic, businesses have relocated employees to remote work, which has shown to be highly productive (Maastricht School of Management, 2021). Therefore, I believe that we should consider working online for a particular category of operators. If their responsibilities permit them to do their jobs effectively from home, then we need to give workers the choice of which format suits them best. In this way, it can increase the positive sentiment and loyalty of management among ordinary workers. It is worth remarking that a crucial detail, which the organization should analyze, is the return of workers to the usual pace of life and business after the pandemic (George et al., 2020). That is, already now, it is essential to evaluate the preferences and reactions of consumers in order to offer them an appropriate format of service at once.
It is worth noting that some of the authors state that the pandemic has made a positive contribution to business development. For example, the spread of contactless payment technology, digital money, and cashless payment systems are valuable. It seems to me that the transition to alternative forms of payment would have been much longer and found limited proponents. Thus, the impact of Covid encouraged customers to adopt new technologies in a short period of time and businesses to respond quickly. At the same time, Covid-19 affected the speed at which businesses reacted to new challenges (Kaushik & Guleria, 2020). For example, an essential indicator for me was the fact that companies were able to provide all employees working at home with the essential equipment in a short period.
That is, I think it was an excellent managerial decision to provide additional payments to employees so that they could equip their workplace at home. This allowance can cover a wide variety of needs such as high-speed Internet connections, robust backups, basic gadgets and devices, or even office equipment such as desks and ergonomic chairs (Savić, 2020). Furthermore, I think it was a valuable management decision to not just provide the employees with technology, but if the need arose to provide training on its use. In this way, the workers felt supported by the business, and the work was more efficient and productive.
