Introduction

Socialization is one of the most critical processes in the formation of the personality of individuals. This is because it contributes to the development of such aspects as identity, self-awareness, and communication. The latter is of particular interest for consideration since it is closely related to how people perceive themselves and others. Socialization plays a leading role in my life, as it helps me to learn more about the society in which I live and gain valuable experience and a better understanding of how this phenomenon affects my beliefs and perceptions of others.

Discussion

Aryan Shah provides a valuable point of view on the phenomenon of socialization in the lives of young people. Thus, the speaker emphasizes that many teenagers often experience a high level of anxiety when meeting and interacting with strangers (TEDx Talks). This factor can be aggravated if the culture and nationality of the individual differ from the majority of the group. This contributes to the formation of the perception that teenagers can negatively perceive an individual and consider a person strange or uninteresting. However, in most cases, young people overthink this phenomenon, leading to misconceptions about themselves and others. Thus, the speaker emphasized that one should not be afraid of socialization since it can only bring an opportunity to study, exchange knowledge and experience, and build valuable interpersonal relationships.

Therefore, I can agree that in the beginning, I was apprehensive about the need for socialization. I thought I had certain traits that people might not like or repel. For example, I used to think that because of some of my personal shortcomings, I could not make friends with popular children in the classroom, since they were better than me. In the process of learning, which meant interacting with these students, I realized that it was only my perception of these people. I believe that this could be caused by the fact of insufficient socialization at an earlier age, that is, the lack of proper contact with others. Therefore, as I began to communicate more with different individuals, my perception transformed, and I became aware that each person is unique.

Conclusion

In conclusion, such aspects as culture, religion, worldview, and upbringing form this characteristic of each individual. They become distinctive features of each person, but in the process of socialization, they become important agents in gaining experience and self-knowledge.
