The purpose of this paper is to provide the benchmarking analysis of undergraduate programs to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management and Human Resource Management. The focus is on programs proposed in the universities of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Additionally, the analysis of programs to receive the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is provided with reference to two universities in Qatar.
Bachelor in Project Management: Program Courses
Table 1 provides the comparison of seven programs proposed in the accredited universities located in the US, the UK, and Australia.

The benchmarking analysis demonstrates that the programs to receive BSc in Project Management in the US, the UK, and Australia typically cover the period of 3-4 years. During this period, students receive knowledge in such areas as Project Management, Leadership, and Business Administration. Courses proposed in the context of programs are different depending on the depth of information they propose. However, there are seven areas that are similar in these programs: Introduction (or Foundations) to Project Management, Project Management Tools (or Methodologies), Project Planning (Scheduling) and Control, Risk Management, Project Management Processes, Project Quality Management, and Leadership in Project Management.
Bachelor in Human Resource Management: Program Courses
Table 2 provides the comparison of seven specific HRM programs proposed in the accredited universities located in the US, the UK, and Australia.

Undergraduate programs for Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management offered in the universities of the US, the UK, and Australia differ significantly in the content they cover in the context of their course plans. Such universities as Coventry University (UK), Murdoch University (Australia), London South Bank University (UK), and UWE Bristol (UK) offer a range of business-related courses in the context of their HRM program.
Therefore, similar courses typical for the reviewed university programs include Introduction to Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior and Performance, Business Law, Economics, Accounting, Global (International) HRM, and Principles of Marketing. The reason for providing an expanded program for students is in the necessity to cover areas that allow individuals to receive a combined degree in Business Management or Administration and Human Resource Management.
Statistics
The review of undergraduate programs to obtain the degree of Bachelor in Project Management that are available over the globe indicates that 202 courses are proposed in universities. About 30 degree plans were not included in these statistics, and these courses are available in other universities of the US, the UK, Australia, and worldwide that were not listed by experts of BachelorsPortal.com. Among 202 degree plans, only 25% are directly related to Project Management and Construction Project Management (Bachelors Portal).
The number of undergraduate programs on Human Resource Management is 405 courses (nearly 50 programs from universities in different countries were not included in the list). In the US, there are 226 programs to obtain the degree of Bachelor in Human Resource Management. In the UK, there are 126 courses available on BachelorsPortal.com. In Australia, the number of programs appropriate for receiving the Bachelor’s degree is 2 (among those provided on the website) (Bachelors Portal).
Bachelor in Business Administration in Qatar
Table 3 presents differences and similarities in undergraduate programs for Bachelor in Business Administration that are available in Qatar University and Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.

In Qatar University, the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration can be received in such fields as Economics, Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing. Students have an opportunity to specialize in any of the listed areas depending on their interest. In Carnegie Mellon University, there is a program for Bachelor of Science in BA. The courses that are similar in these two universities are Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Finance, Economics, and International Business.
