Introduction

Transformational leaders often foster an environment of trust and confidence among their teams and are capable of drawing out the best in their staff. Although there are numerous benefits to this style of leadership in the current climate, there are also some drawbacks that must be taken into consideration.
Advantages
One of the primary advantages of being a transformational leader in these post-COVID-19 times is that it provides an opportunity for the leader to create a new vision of the future. The leader can utilize their influence to foster a shared understanding of the organization’s mission and goals and help motivate employees to collaborate in achieving these objectives (Boamah, 2022). A transformational leader is also able to use their influence to foster a specific sense of trust and loyalty among team members, which is especially important during times of uncertainty.
Disadvantages
However, there are also some disadvantages to being a transformational leader in these post-COVID-19 times. One of the most significant disadvantages is the potential for burnout if the leader is not careful to manage their own emotions and energy levels.
