It is the organization of choice because it is tasked with ensuring the survival of local business owners in America by providing them with business resources, product discounts, and forging a network that enables growth. The Chamber’s mission statement is geared towards advocating and supporting people’s progress in the business industry by combining political and economic systems focussed on enhancing individual freedom. In addition to that, the political and economic systems use incentives and initiatives coupled with business opportunities to make the businesses responsible for the country’s financial situation. Therefore, one can rephrase the mission statement as interactively improving the progress of American business society stakeholders through lobbying for political and economic policies that create business opportunities and foster a conducive business environment.
The organization has an authoritative online presence through its website and social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram. The US Chamber of Commerce’s website address is www.uschamber.com (US Chamber of Commerce, 2021). The website is well-developed and has two prominent features that make it superior to several other websites. It is seamlessly linked to the social media sites for the organization with the touch of a button, and it is simple to navigate and use. The only thing that can make the website interactive and appeal is the inclusion of testimonials showing how the Chamber has helped transform businesses in America. On the other hand, the Facebook page is also superior, with a mobile phone number, website link, and a description of what the organization also includes. Unfortunately, the organization has a weak Facebook presence with 411,148 likes and 399,242 followers from a country with a high population capacity (US Chamber of Commerce, 2021). To increase their online presence, the organization can engage more with their followers and look for partnerships with well-established brands.
According to records from Open Secrets (2021), the Chamber has been spending its money mostly in lobbying for policies in Congress and the house parties, Democrats and Republics, through the revolving door that seeks to control legislations and regulations in the business world. The highest beneficiaries of the money from the Chamber of Commerce are republicans, while the only democrat to benefit is Joe Biden, having received $23,479 in the concluded general elections (Open Secrets, 2021). The US Chamber of Commerce is right to lobby for policies and legislations that promote a conducive environment. In the previous years, they have been supporting republicans because a republican was the head of state; however, they changed their tune because president bidden promised to include more policies that could foster trade and improve the economy.
One of the things that the US Chamber of Commerce needs focus on is to promote their members’ businesses on their websites and social media. This can be achieved by providing links to the different companies under them that are not well established to help them develop. The Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to foster the development in the business community; by promoting businesses on their social media platforms and websites, they would be doing the same. Young business owners register their business setups with the Chamber of Commerce to create a network and access incentives and opportunities that could help them improve their businesses. Access to the 399,242 followers on the organization’s Facebook page is the perfect customer network that start-ups might need. The promotion might also be the cheapest form of advertisement the businesses could be charged, thus generating more revenue for the Chamber of Commerce.
