Overview
The Western Region Water Corporation is one of the water corporations in Victoria which provides its services of water supply and sewage disposal over an area of 3000 square kilometers. Being one of the largest thirteen water corporations in Victoria, Western water Corporation’s main mission is to provide quality services in the provision of water and sewage disposal, leading to an environmentally sustainable future. On the other hand, the main vision of the company is to be the leading water company in the entire Victorian region by incorporating the currently increasing technology in its services to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the provision of its services. As it has been revealed, Western Water Corporation provides its services to more than 55,000 properties whose population is more than 140,000 individuals as reported by SGV (2009).
Generally, the Western Region Water Corporation has established very strong and viable strategic plans for recycling water and sewage which has greatly enhanced its sustainability. The company has succeeded to an extent in providing a variety of services to its clients through strategic planning and mobilizing its services more efficiently. As it has been revealed, the Western Region Water Corporation’s revenue over the last few years has been ranging between $250 to 780 million dollars; an indication that the company has been improving subsequentially. Perhaps, many of the company’s customers have shown a high degree of responsiveness and trust in the company as its services have been of high quality as asserted by SGV (2009).
Organizational Structure
According to SGV (2009), the organizational structure of the Western Region Water Corporation is well organized in which its highly skilled management team has provided the ground for its good performance. More specifically, The Western Region Water Corporation has a hybrid organizational structure; in which it is a quality-oriented organization by leading into a sustainable environment in terms of water provision. In this case, the company has an overall managing director who oversees the general company’s undertakings and provides directive decisions for the company. In this company, the managing director together with various departmental heads decides various strategic plans for the various activities in the company as postulated by SGV (2009).
For instance, the water engineers in the company are very proficient in dealing with water-related machinery and topography, whose services have been of high quality to the company’s customers. In this respect, therefore, the company has acquired a good reputation among its customers leading to its high competence in the provision of water and sewage-related services. In general, the company has its organizational structures well coordinated by acquiring professionals and highly skilled personnel and management team whose aim and objective is to propel the company high by providing quality services to the company’s clients.
Strategic Plan
To enhance the achievement of its mission and vision, the Western Region Water Corporation has organized a strategic plan that would propel the company very high in terms of its performance. Considering the current environmental changes, the organization plans at achieving a sustainable program for its services to enhance the achievement of its goals and objectives. More specifically, the company plans to provide its clients with more efficient shower heads, water flow controllers, and toilet reservoir controllers. By so doing, the company would be assured of proper utilization of the available water by its clients sufficiently and drive the environment into sustainable future demands.
Perhaps, the company’s invention in the provision of efficient equipment for water utilization and recycling sewages would enhance the achievement of a sustainable water provision to its clients. The company plans to install new equipment in its clients’ waterways; which would be more efficient in terms of avoiding water wastages as well as enhancing the recycling of used water more sustainably (Cutlip & Center, 1971).
Corporate Social Responsibility
The corporate social responsibility of the Western Region Water Corporation has been revealed to be the provision of water and sewage services at relatively low costs and ensuring environmental sustainability in terms of water provision. In reaction to the efforts made by the Western Region Water Corporation in offering its clients quality services, many customers have responded positively to the strategic plans of the corporation. More specifically, according to SGV (2009), the customers’ responsiveness towards the strategic plans by the company has been positive in which many have incorporated the innovations by the company in its pursuit towards achieving an environmentally sustainable future. In this case, many customers have been very willing in paying the extra money required in installing the equipment necessary to enhance minimum water wastage. Generally, many customers of the Western Region Water Corporation have been very willing in responding towards quality services offered by the company in ensuring a sustainable environment in the future; following the currently dynamic environmental conditions (Barkley & Saylor, 2001).
