The Zapatismo movement opposes the capitalistic system, which is prevalently implemented within the market structure of society. Based on the interview, the movement strives to fight the idea of neoliberalism. This notion is used to describe the policy model which is focused on transferring economic control from the public sector to the private. In other words, most of the power is allocated in the hands of authorities or huge organizations, while ordinary people have no opportunity to affect society’s order. The Zapatismo movement fights for the distribution of power within the public sector. To be precise, the ideas of this movement contradict the globalization process. Seeking equality and respect for all communities and minorities, the representatives of Zapatismo offer the ideology of personal value. The ideas of globalization and neoliberalism confront the concept of personal value.

Subcomandante Marcos mentioned that obtaining power by the authorities is realized through media which is the primary tool of manipulation during globalization. The massive concentration of power damages the ethics of society and empowers stigmatization and inequality which are the inherent consequences of neoliberalism. The fighting path which Zapatismo follows is complicated. The actions of Zapatismo are centered on preventing potentially dangerous authorities or huge organizations’ activities. Zapatismo contradicts neoliberalism in two directions: ideological and practical. The spreading of the ideas of power distribution and equality, the representatives of the movement, try to minimize the impact of neoliberalism on society. From the practical perspective, different actions are often presented from Zapatismo on the local level. Insufficient at first glimpse, changes can become the basis for more significant improvements. Therefore, the Zapatismo movement claims that most modern power acquisition systems are incorrect and unethical. The representatives of this movement strive to proclaim the importance of equality and balance in power distribution.
