American cities’ central development and urbanization occurred in the years after the end of the Civil War. Despite its brutality, such a war brought positive things to society, mainly urban infrastructure development. Such a thing was caused primarily by the significant emigration of people. In general, the authorities realized the population is large, and the cities are not well equipped for life. On this wise, American cities not only began to increase in people but also transformed conurbation development.
Firstly, the active development of urbanization was caused by the fact that people began to move to cities en masse. Most of the population lived in cities where life did not adapt to comfortable living. In this way, the active development of cities begins. From the beginning, it developed into various transport connections to construct large and tall buildings (Judd and Hinze 10). The dynamic development of the railway made it possible to transport people with high quality and bring the necessary materials quickly. Therefore, it is worth mentioning that transport helped people in the movement and transportation of essential resources (Judd and Hinze 3). Urbanization became a national phenomenon, mainly because the transformation restored the economy. After the Civil War used up resources in economic life, and the economy plummeted. Urbanization has become a key and critical decision for the economic situation that permits further transformation, the city’s infrastructure development, and new opportunities for the town.
Local authorities were an essential part of the development and popularization of urbanization. The main driving force in the transformation of cities was local communities, who actively made decisions and immediately tried translating them into construction (Judd and Hinze 5). Mainly, due to the high-quality use of resources, cities actively began to develop through local authorities. In addition, it is essential to understand that the local community could not always manage their city well because these people were corrupt and subordinated to others (Judd and Hinze 11). In any case, most municipalities have actively started their development and rapid urbanization.
Christianity also partially played a role in the development of cities, particularly infrastructure. Christian communities significantly influenced the population, particularly in certain parts of America (Judd and Hinze 22). According to this, such communities had funds, and during urbanization, they began to use them for the construction of not only temples but also various institutions. Here it is worth emphasizing of all the buildings built in the future often had a religious character and were mainly based on the spread of the Christian faith (Judd and Hinze 13). Christianity partly fought against poverty because it allowed people to earn money by building their projects. In general, this situation somewhat improved American society.
The fight against poverty was primarily aimed at working with emigrants. After the Civil War and the beginning of America’s rise, many people began to emigrate to the United States. (Judd and Hinze 21). Thus, Christian organizations often created special centers where they assisted such people. It is worth saying such assistance gave birth to a new specialty – social work. These workers directly tried to help the poor and worked to change their situation.
The active development of society was caused by urbanization, which actively spread over almost the entire territory of the United States. In particular, the association was ready and actively supported the city’s transformation and comfort. In changing the city infrastructure, local and Christian communities, directly interested in solving such issues, played an important role. Because of not indifferent people, cities actively developed, and people received help.
