Introduction

The movie portrays that a lack of knowledge and information about global warming and greenhouse gases becomes one of the main problems for modern society. The movie demonstrates that society has had a detrimental effect upon the Earth through its exploiting or otherwise affecting most of its terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Whether negligently or intentionally, human activities have caused the deterioration of the natural environment and the extinction of many species. Thesis Al Gore proves that global warming is more serious and catastrophic as it is supposed to be, and the task of the global community is to reduce environmental pollution.

Main text

The movie proves the thesis very effectively and impressively using real data and scientific facts. Al Gore demonstrates that pollutants may harm the senses of sight, taste, and smell and may also cause health hazards. The potential for climate change and resource depletion may eventually alter the fundamental framework of society as we know it. These potential effects will most likely become exacerbated by the end of the twenty-first century when the Earth is expected to have human biomass of thirty billion people. It is natural to feel overwhelmed by the intricacies and complexities of the many environmental problems confronting society and by the belief that an individual is at the mercy of all the variables that threaten our society. Notwithstanding the fact that one individual might be helpless, virtually hundreds of thousands of individuals and organizations are attempting to resolve these problems and are achieving some measure of success along many lines.

Taking into account the utilitarian perspective, it is possible to say that society and the global community are responsible for global warming because its actions have a direct on the outcomes: human activities cause global climate change. Many people are more interested in economic and materials gain neglecting moral and ethical norms and principles. Some organizations are global in scope; others are national or local. Some have an influence on the general public, some affect the government, and others act directly (for example, by buying up wilderness areas to protect them from development). From an egalitarian perspective, all people are equal. The right to clean air and land is a basic right of all human beings. In this case, industrial companies and states bureaucracies violate the right of the community to reduce global warming and pollution. Environmental policy is strongly influenced by the interaction of many different people in private and public roles, although it is ultimately formed by public officials. The concerns about the environmental policy can be divided into stages, which are largely determined by scientific, economic, and other social forces. International injustice and lack of strict laws against pollution and global warming problems is the violation of this right.

Conclusion

In sum, the movie persuades viewers that everyone is responsible for pollution and global warming, and it’s the task of every individual to prevent catastrophe. The ecosphere is being influenced by locucidic pollutants such as discharges of chemicals (CFCs, carbon dioxide, and other gases), deforestation, and other habitat modification. Enormous uncertainties for scientific measurement exist because various parts of the ecosphere interact in innumerable ways on scales ranging from molecular to global. Pollutants are changing the ecosphere on a grand scale, with the outcome still in question, and the consequences potentially far-reaching.
