COVID-19 has posed a significant threat to everyone leading to the dramatic loss of human life. Both young and older adults are at risk of being infected by COVID-19, mainly if they have existing complications. Nonetheless, the disease has impacted hospitals since they face the burden of accommodating patients. The covid-19 crisis has put numerous families and societies in vulnerable situations, especially in the less developed states. Patients affected by COVID-19, Medicare programs should be developed to reduce depression and meet sustainable healthcare. Additionally, healthcare programs should recognize that interventions are meant to develop long-term sustainable strategies to address this crisis. COVID-19 has led to a trauma condition whereby individual lives with the fear of being infected or infecting someone else. Those already suffering may find the situation difficult since they are missing their families and friends.

Depression and anxiety result from less intervention for patients with COVID-19. This may further lead to mental illness as well as impaired quality of life. After a diagnosis of COVID-19, patients are likely to have psychological concerns such as fear of disability, death, and illness progression (Holman et al., 2020). However, a psychological and behavioral intervention program is a crucial system that aid patients in curbing depression. This may include breathing exercises to keep mental concentration away from the consequences of the disease. Additionally, psychological intervention may provide simple relaxation techniques, expressing understanding to patients, and frequent encouragement to eliminate mental tension. Social support from family and friends is essential since it provides a sense of self-esteem and acceptability. Medicare intervention should be on the frontline to develop more strategies that address the covid-19 situation. Healthcare practitioners are considered to pose hope to numerous patients since they are on the frontline. However, developing a long-term solution might take time; thus, it is essential to determine an urgent solution to curb depression in patients with COVID-19.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, every individual has been practicing strategies to avoid infection and face the later consequences of depression. Despite medical intervention, technology is a crucial factor. Technology does not require healthcare approval, which may consume time. For instance, technology is essential in assisting older adults in avoiding depression. These include; the use of smartphones and television programs. Smartphones have fitness, prescription management, and interactive apps, enhancing their mental wellness. Further, it is essential to build intellectual wellness and perform memory exercises using smartphones (Holman et al., 2020). Smartphones enabled video calls among individuals at home before the pandemic, eliminating loneliness, depression and improving the overall quality of life. Televisions tend to keep adults’ minds busy since they are recreational activities (Holman et al., 2020). Therefore, it is evident that technology is beneficial in reducing depression between individuals suffering from COVID-19. Advancements enable one’s mind to remain busy by associating themselves with numerous lively activities.

Medical and technological intervention positively impacts the reduction of depression in patients suffering from COVID-19. If a person has been ailing from for a long time, they may render their life unworthy and commit suicide. Further, poor intervention of depression may lead to accumulated disorders rather than that arising from COVID-19 implications. Therefore, these prevention are crucial in reducing negative future mental and physical health impacts. Additionally, it reduces the burden of severe healthcare complications that may be caused by depression. However, it is challenging to live in an environment without depression; instead, programs to curb this condition reduce uncertainties revolving around individuals. Moreover, preventing depression enables better love life since an individual feels appreciated by others and gains self-confidence despite the situation. It also leads to healthier lifestyle due to more activeness, exercise, and frequent diagnosis. There is a more positive anticipated outcome for patients suffering from COVID-19 once they can limit depression, since these patients gain more control of their future health with less difficulties. Therefore, combating depression has numerous advantages for an individual, such as an improved mental state and strong ties with families and friends.

Achieving these beneficial outcomes requires more time and concentration. It is sometimes difficult for a person to recover from depression as a result of inadequate intervention. Frequent contact with individuals suffering from depression due to COVID-19 is essential. It is crucial to give an assurance of hope that such a situation is a passing wave and only requires persistency. Observing behavioral change among these patients is crucial to determine whether there is a fluctuating character (Holman, et al., 2020). Therefore, the duration for avoiding and recovering from depression may vary from an individual due to their mental status. For instance, persons are willing to participate in this process while others are not willing. Such people need maximum concentration and counseling for a change. Nevertheless, combatting depression is a crucial step in posing positive achievements to recover from mental and physical wellness caused by COVID-19.
