The study focuses on the vulnerability of nurses to emotional stress in the workplace. This is explained by the high complexity and demands of work, which is exacerbated by the increase in responsibility and the number of patients due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, another source of the problem is the presence of conflicts and tense atmosphere in the work team.
In order to more effectively analyze this problem and offer relevant solutions, several methods of analysis were chosen. First of all, the problem is considered from several perspectives at once, including cultural, ethical, legal and economic ones. The statistics of mental health problems among nurses during the pandemic was subjected to a separate mathematical analysis.
Research has revealed strong causal relationships between increased burnout and overexertion with COVID-19 urgency. In particular, the main reasons are the increase in the number of patients in hospitals, the complexity of their treatment, the lack of experience and theory of dealing with this disease. In addition, there is an increased responsibility due to the danger and unpredictability of the problem, which negatively affects the mental state of specialists. The situation is aggravated by interpersonal conflicts and pressure from the authorities, which creates extremely difficult conditions for mental health.
The study suggests effective methods for dealing with this situation, such as legal reform, the introduction of additional management bodies in hospitals, and options for psychological relief for nurses.
