The article studies the presence of male and female images in sports films. The research addresses three problems: the utilizing of traditional gender behavior in sports films; the reaction of the intended audience to the film: and the implication of sexuality of athletes. The categories regarding sex, behavior, image, and role were formulated. Each category had corresponding coded characteristics. The results revealed that male athletes are depicted in dominating positions. At the same time, ladies in sport are shown with the focus on their beauty and sexuality.
