1.	Japan nuke risks are minimal	The World Health Organization has sent alerts to global health experts to travel to Japan to prevent health hazards caused by radiation. WHO reported the health risks arising from the incident is very low and the current radiation level has no great risk on public health. In general, exposure to nuclear radiation raises radiation sickness as immediate effects and exposure to a higher level of radiation can cause cancer or it can be fatal. Iodine tablets are taken to reduce the effect of radiation. Moreover, these radiations can cause acid rain and can destroy the overall balance of the environment. (Manila 2011).
2.	Healthy Australia Public Support for Prevention Strategies	The main idea of this research is to prove that people are interested in a healthy lifestyle and want the Australian government to assist people in their choice. Thus, the report states the necessity of governmental assistance in the following issues, regulating alcohol and tobacco consumption, providing more useful information, programs, and legal regulations devoted to the healthy lifestyle, helping citizens in making healthy choices, and regulations of the ads about unhealthy food on TV. The research also shows that Australians are ready for changes in the direction of a healthy life, they just need additional support from the government, the increase of the resources of healthy food and programs which can encourage them for attending physical activities. Spending 2% of the Australian health care budget on prevention activities, the report shows that the percentage should be increased up to 5% (Healthy Australia Public Support for Prevention Strategies 2011).
3.	An alarming rise in bowel cancer fuels calls for renewed testing	The article under consideration states about the increase of diagnosing bowel cancer at the final fourth stage for about 20% of the citizens. The problem is urgent as the cases of bowel cancer constantly increase. Australian government once tried to provide a national bowel cancer screening program, but it failed to succeed from the very beginning. The program was stopped and renewed several times, but it still worked. The current problem is that the program has stopped again this year because the funding came to an end in December 2010. $50 million a year can save 500 lives and others have an opportunity to enjoy the screening and identification of the problem at the first stages when cancer can be easily treated (Cresswell 2011a).
4.	Dengue fever outbreak in Cairns	An outbreak of dengue fever is officially declared in Cairns, Queensland. This information has been confirmed after the positive results for two residents who have been tested for mosquito-borne disease. Some people connect the outbreak at Innisfail, where 50 people are infected. The article remembers an outbreak of the virus two years ago when about 1000 people died. That case is considered to be the worst in Australian history. The government insists that people should do all possible to protect themselves and their children from danger. Kids and the flu vaccine	Children’s negative reaction to flu vaccines the previous year has led to the situation that parents refuse to vaccinate their children above five while there is a ban on vaccinating children under five years old. Children are more subjected to catching the flu. One of the main dangers of this virus is that it affects chronic illnesses and promotes their development and progression. The refusal of parents to vaccinate their children this winter may lead to the increase of the cases of flu and even to the outbreak of epidemics. Federal Government points to the necessity for vaccination as it protects people from disease while the influenza outbreak (Jenkins 2011).
7.	Researchers uncover gastro’s sugary secret	The research conducted by the Dr Victoria Korolik and a group of scientists has managed to consider the cause of the food-borne disease. Human infection by bacteria is caused because of the sugar and the change of its shape while heating. The research is really useful as it allows professionals to treat gastroenteritis without antibiotics and even prevent the disease. Gastroenteritis may be prevented (now, 500 million cases of this disease are recorded a year). The best care and health services will be provided by the Australian government health reform. The new hospitals with better care services will be provided to the citizens (Roxon 2011b).
12.	Public patients scared into paying for ‘superior’ treatment	The problem with financial benefits some doctors experience when offering their patients to ‘jump the queue’ on the waitlist is considered. The Australian Medical Association and Consumers Health Forum met for discussing the possibility of a self-pay method in the sphere. There is no specific decision on this issue for now, but if the self-pay method is accepted, many professionals may remain isolated, politically punished and with specific stymie in career progression. There are many disadvantages of this system for patients as well (Cresswell 2011b).
13.	Protecting People and Environment from the harm of nuclear radiation	Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency are taking appropriate measures to protect Australians from the nuclear radiation which are being monitored after the occurrence of the incident of earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. The ARPANSA has issued an advice document on protection from nuclear radiation for the Australian people who are living in Japan and the people who are coming back to Australia from Japan (ARPANSA 2011).
