Furthermore, interest in history and its impact on society fueled the choice of this topic. Readings of sources such as River’s book on the Haitian revolution (River, 2020) helped in understanding the extent to which racial discrimination has been a persistent issue in Haiti despite progress made in recent years. Stieber’s book on Haiti’s paper war post-independence (Stieber, 2020) provided critical insight into the writing, civil war, and the making of the republic. Given the importance placed on democracy and equal treatment for all races, it was deemed essential to study this topic. The aim was to analyze the historical context of racial discrimination and the crucial developments in the journey toward racial equality.

Even though cases of racial discrimination have significantly reduced in America and affiliated countries such as Haiti, it remains a significant concern for the multiracial country. Therefore, to understand this phenomenon and have a better view, it is essential to look back to the historical genesis of the problem and how it developed over time. Setting historical questions on racial discrimination is critical in shedding more light on the issue and providing the necessary information to understand the topic properly. Racial discrimination in America is a historical issue, hence the need to dig into the past to get a better view.

In addition, his family suffered on numerous occasions at the hands of racist White bullies. Similarly, Martin Luther Junior was a member of the Black community, a top victim of racial discrimination in the larger American, including the extensive Caribbean region of Haiti, and thus joined the fight to save his people.
