The Kremlin serves as Russia’s center of political authority and is a well-known emblem of Russian sovereignty. This enormous triangular-shaped complex, collectively known as The Kremlin, covers an area of approximately 28 hectares and contains several lovely palaces, churches, armories, and a medieval fortress enclosed in strict security (TheRichest, 2021). It has more than 15 structures, 20 towers, and 1.5 kilometers of walls with a maximum thickness of 21 feet (Moscow Kremlin Museums, 2022). By observing these structures, one can reflect that there is a sense of grandiosity and scale as a historic site. In regards to the latter, it is evident that the vast territory of Russia is an emblematic element of the Kremlin since it is exceptionally large, wide, and almost inefficient with the space it was given.
One of the city’s top state-run museums is the Moscow Kremlin Museums. The Kremlin Armory Museum, created in 1806, served as the inspiration for the current Museum, which opened its doors in 1991 (Sue _Mchannel, 2021). St. George and Alexander Halls communicate and signify the historical importance of the structures of power in the country (William Campos, 2017). It is possible to see how the European stylistic architecture merges with more eastern elements, such as smoother lines and shapes observable as both a seat of power as well as a museum complex.
The message conveyed through the video presentation style is that Russia is a well-developed country and a country full of pride. It is a nation that relies on its founding traditions, with the ultimate power residing in its leader, the president. The new understanding of the Kremlin from the videos is the growing Russian architecture over the years. As a historic site, Russian architecture is depicted as a fusion of pagan and Eastern Roman styles. Further, the outside galleries and the abundance of towers are two features derived from Slavic pagan temples. Kremlin’s original architecture and current layout have undergone significant changes over time. Initially, the structure was composed of wood. As a museum complex, its armory museum has over 4000 artifacts, both made from Russian, European, and Eastern masters. Additionally, Kremlin is an exciting location representing Moscow’s social and political development and primarily represents Russia’s power over the region.
