Introduction
The speech’s main objective is to educate people about male addiction to pornography while showing that it does not hinder interpersonal relationships between men and women. Specifically, this speech aims to convince women aged 19-39 that men’s addiction to pornography has no bearing on how they treat women. Although watching pornography is addictive, it does not affect interpersonal relationships as it contributes to enjoyment, promotes a better understanding of the female body, and trains men to differentiate between reality and acting.
Pornography and Enjoyment
Pornography has no impact on men’s perception of women since it presents one way through which they relax and enjoy. Men watch pornography to derive satisfaction from the actors’ attractive bodies, without extending their reactions to women in real life. In essence, men often turn to pornography when in a bad mood to enhance their feelings, cope with challenges and find comfort (Burtăverde et al. 7). Figure 1 below shows how a man relaxes his mind and enjoys while watching pornography in the presence of a lady, proving that porn does not alter men’s view of women. In addition, since porn involves male and female actors, it cannot be considered to negatively impact men’s views on women alone.
Understanding the Female Body
Pornography gives men a better understanding of women as they watch the actor’s bodies. This can positively affect how men treat women since they learn more about ladies sexuality and how best to satisfy them. Porn has become one of the primary ways through which men can watch a sexual act. According to Kirby, young adults turn to pornography to explore their sexual desires, eventually developing deeper knowledge on sexuality (6). Many societies treat sex topics as a taboo, limiting men from discussing such critical issues although they play a crucial role in social relationships. In essence, men frequently watch porn to understand their sexuality and learn the best ways to relate with females by satisfying their urges.
Training
Watching porn trains men to differentiate reality from acting, implying that it does not alter men’s perception of women in real life. As men view pornographic material, they treat it as a movie that has no impacts on their thoughts, feelings, and reactions in reality. In addition, as many people discuss porn actresses, there has been a significant reduction in prejudices associated with watching such adult content. Huntington argues the interactions between partners are not hindered by pornography alone (135). In addition, Vanderlaan notes that pornographic acts entail exaggerated and unrealistic performances and personalities that cannot be duplicated in real life (25). To understand how men’s perception of women change after watching porn, I conducted an interview with a familiar man who watches pornography and he informed me that it bears no practical significance. Figure 2 below shows a man and women enjoying each other’s company, proving that men can distinguish between virtual and real-life sexual interactions.
Conclusion
In conclusion, men watch pornography for enjoyment, gaining a better understanding of women and training themselves to differentiate between virtual and real-life sexual relationships. Therefore, watching porn alone does not alter how men view women. On the contrary, it enables them to learn more about their sexuality and satisfy their urges while pleasing women. In essence, as more people watch adult content, there is an increased understanding of its positive influence on enjoyment as people eliminate prejudices regarding its impact on men’s perception of women.
