Reading the article “Evaluating Planning Strategies for Prioritizing Projects in Sustainability Improvement Programs” was very intriguing. My main takeaways were; first, managers involved in scheme expansion should seek to reduce waste and use renewable energy. Secondly, the success of any development that requires funds is dependent on the hierarchization that has been put in place. Lastly, I learned that sequencing approaches are simulated by three levels that include environmental, monetary, and time-based objectives of the plan. I would consider this content in my next project evaluation since it provides some fundamental enhancements in project prioritization and suggests ways to achieve them.
Some improvements required in prioritizing projects include using a priority-driven methodology whereby stakeholders are involved in the decision-making processes. Common alignment challenges by reviewing previous projects and strategizing on how to overcome them. The planning intelligence approach aids in prioritizing fluctuations in real-time. Tracking progress and managing the team’s time expertise application to ensure quality work is delivered (Hessami, Faghihi, Kim & Ford, 2020). Moreover, managers should stop struggling to manage any priority change and remain flexible in responding to the needs that may arise during the program.
In approaching these improvements, I would adopt technology that is eco-friendly and resource-efficient. Advocate minimization of material use, reuse, and recycling because it also decreases waste generation and pollution. Promote environmental education and create awareness hence improving quality of life, including economic, social, and cultural dimensions.
