Product Design Approaches Discussion Essay

There are two major approaches to creating designs for products: to identify and consider customers’ preferences and needs or to examine organizational resources and possibilities that reduce costs and improve quality. My opinion is that modern companies might gain multiple profits if they choose the second way and focus on manufacturing and assembly processes that do not provoke cost rise and positively affect product quality. Today, people are open to new ideas and propositions and want to observe and compare services and products. Therefore, an organization’s decision to introduce something that is of high quality and low price may attract customers. Besides, if more attention is paid to customers’ needs, the company can lose a chance to compete and progress. Analyzing situations and choosing the sources with the help of which cost reduction is possible are employees’ direct responsibilities. Even the most devoted clients are not able to cover all expenses and ensure a competitive advantage for a company. Thus, products designed to reduce costs and improve quality become a better and more important solution.
