The Boston University Athletics department at Boston University is an area that warrants further investigation and development for our project. When it first opened its doors in 2005, the BU Fitness and Recreation Center featured an 18,000-square-foot weight and cardio room, an indoor running track, a climbing wall, and two swimming pools. Additionally, there are two summer programs and a juice bar located on the premises. More than 6,500 pupils use their swipe cards to enter the competition arena every day. Skating and ice hockey are two of the activities in the Walter Brown Arena, which is one of the activities that take place.

The group intends to begin by transforming the fitness room on the second floor into a rehabilitation center, which will allow them to begin accepting patients referred from the BU medical school or other affiliated hospitals. In the meantime, the Fitness and Recreation Center frequently holds events such as basketball matches, swim races, private training, and other similar activities, all of which have the potential to inflict injuries or disabilities to participating athletes. These clients are going to be the most important source of revenue for the rehabilitation facility. The facility, however, serves not only as a fitness Centre but also as a multi-purpose complex that welcomes a diverse group of customers, including individuals of all ages and capabilities. In addition to that, the team is planning to install not just one but two electromagnetic elevators in the foyer of the building.

The expansion of the facility will make it easier to divide the area into departments, which will enable smoother transitions and improved service delivery. An extension ensures a clear distinction on where each patient and client needs the service from, thereby minimizing the possibility that confusion will emerge within the facility. There is an increased risk of falling since people living with disabilities make up one of the target groups for the rehabilitation centre. According to the findings of specific studies, close to one-third of all falls can be avoided. The management of a patient’s underlying fall risk factors and optimizing the hospital’s physical architecture and environment are essential components of fall prevention. This toolkit focuses on assisting users in overcoming problems connected with the process of establishing, implementing, and maintaining a culture of patient safety.

A group of people will be responsible for managing the inventory. Their duties will involve performing material handling tasks such as acquiring elevator materials and storing raw components. On the other hand, it is the responsibility of the Human Resource Manager to make sure that the inventory is handled in a manner that is both efficient and economical. The team will establish a suitable lead time and reorder point.

A contact officer will be appointed to find solutions to the problems that have arisen with Agile Elevator enhancers. He will receive all of the assistance that he requires to ensure that the job is finished on time. Concerns about local policy, both positive and negative impacts it will have on the community culture, technology, and serious ecological risks are among the issues the officer addresses. The officer is accountable for a wide range of concerns. Thanks to this change, it will be much simpler to monitor how far along the progress is in the project.

Putting the Columns in Their Correct Places. The technician will first inspect where the lift will be installed to verify its suitability for the work. If necessary, they will provide various alternatives. There must be enough space to work safely without interfering with the flow of other operations, such as ice hockey and skating. When the lift system is completely loaded, the flooring on both levels must be strong enough to hold it. Furthermore, they will inspect to ensure sufficient overhead clearance for loading and unloading the items and people. Bolts will subsequently be used to secure the guiding columns and the columns themselves.

The communication system offers a way by which the athlete officials can relay critical situations involving athletes to medical specialists who might be present in an elevator at the same time. Innovators will soon install audio and video cameras inside the elevators to facilitate more effective communication between the various fitness and rehabilitation departments (Bergmann & Karwowski, 2018). It is done to boost the overall productivity of the rehabilitation center and the community as a whole. They are adopting the usage of biometric scanners to register and recognize people as they visit the facility, assessing whether or not the community has a favorable impression of the establishment.

Automated pharmacy and drug distribution system: It is pre-programmed with prescriptions for individual patients, particularly those suffering from substance addiction, the elderly, and those with mobility disabilities, whom the centre’s registration number can identify. This system also distributes medications. Additionally, the distribution of pharmaceuticals is handled by this system that receives commands from pharmacy control room. It makes administering medication easier, but it also helps save time during the process.
