Wallace believed that his revitalization applied in various cultures such as the Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism (Daugherty 87). This is evident since various people had to come together with the aim of developing their own culture according to their expectations.
The ghost dance religion can be referred to as a revitalization movement because it was formed by people who wanted to change their traditional culture. It was formed with the aim of curbing poverty in the society which was alarmingly increasing. This means that the religion was formed in order to alter cultural practices among individuals to help them in tackling poverty.
In addition, it targeted curbing hunger and disease and all these represent reservation of life. This means that the religion was created to make sure that those who decide to follow it will help in saving the community from these social aspects hence qualifying the sect to be a revitalization movement.
The branch davidians can be regarded as a revitalization movement because it was formed by Houteff after he was chased from the seventh day Adventist following his opposing views. He started his parallel church with followers who had their own cultures. Some of their activities were criminal hence raising security concerns.
For instance, they used tobacco and possessed illegal fire arms which clearly indicated that the group was doing something illegal. This group can be classified in the revitalization movements because it was formed with the aim of changing culture. This means that its officials were opposed to the seventh day Adventist church hence decided to mobilize a section of the society to join their own cult.
Politics, economics and religion are closely related since they are all possessed by people in a community (Harkin 78). For instance, politicians come from the society where religion rules and therefore they need to understand how to balance between the two. In addition, economic activities in any community also have influence on religion since people have to sustain themselves in order to worship God.
Economic and political changes experienced by a group of people tend to influence their religion change in various manners. For example, the Ghost dance religion was formed basically to help in curbing social issues in the society caused by economic changes.
This is true because poverty is caused by economic hardships which leave people unable to sustain themselves hence calling for religious change. When people are very rich, they may come up with their religious cults aimed at protecting their wealth through criminalizing activities that may be threatening their businesses.
Law and region interrelate in various places especially when guiding people on how to unite and live together. Both religion and law come up with strategies aimed at ensuring that people live in peace and harmony hence avoiding instances where people breach peace and stability in a society. I think both the law and religion should be promoted in all communities to ensure that everyone is responsible for their deeds at all times. This can be easily achieved since human beings tend to fear the supernatural powers.
