A thoroughly created portfolio with all the necessary information about one’s career path, education and skills, and experience is a key to getting a dream job. That is why it is important to use the right and reliable portfolio sites that help people organize their CVs in the right and pleasant way. The present paper explores six websites that help people create their CV or portfolio in order to find out the most appropriate one for my case.

The first website is LinkedIn, which is the most popular online resource for making portfolios for people for whom career, professional growth, and development are the main priorities. One of its significant advantages concerns the fact that it not only enables people to create CVs but also contains helpful articles on different aspects of obtaining the job. In addition, LinkedIn enables its users to publish their own articles and content that will help them promote their services (LinkedIn, n.d.). However, LinkedIn often sends spam to its users, and it may become a problem since a person may lose important messages among the unnecessary ones.

Another tool for creating a CV or portfolio is Weebly. Many users value it for quite a variety of options for resume design as well as for the simple editor that is easy to use (Weebly, n.d.). At the same time, it is impossible to get support or help from the team on the website in case of difficulties with the site or the app if a person has only a free plan.

The third quite popular tool that may help in making a portfolio is VisualCV, which helps its users create resumes both as websites and in PDF format. One of its significant benefits concerns the fact that it has a large library of CV and portfolio examples people may look through to better understand what information their resume should contain (VisualCV, n.d.). However, it does not have any tools that would help people proofread their CVs and correct possible mistakes. That is why many people use Kickresume instead of it. Unlike VisualCV, it has professional human proofreaders, but the correction of grammar is available there only for English and Spanish languages (Kickresume, n.d.). However, the website is easy to use, and it may even suggest people pre-written phrases for their CVs.

Another website that may help people in creating their resumes is ReumeGenius. A lot of people like it for easy navigation and access to useful resources and materials (ResumeGenius, n.d.). However, its advantages are badly influenced by the drawbacks the website has that concern hidden payments and weak support. That is why it may be dangerous to use for those who do not want their personal data to be stolen.

The last website analyzed is True, which is the most popular job-searching resource in the USA. Its advantages primarily concern a huge number of resume-creating instruments that may help job seekers not only tell about themselves and their experience but also skills-tracking opportunities (Indeed, n.d.). However, the variety of formats to choose from when downloading the resume from the website is quite small.

Having analyzed the six websites that help people create resumes, I came to the conclusion that I will use Indeed for creating my CV. The large number of tools that help in creating a resume will surely compensate for the lack of formats I will have to choose for download. In any case, my resume will be placed on the Indeed website, where it looks professional and presentable. If I want to download it for personal use, I can easily fix all the possible disadvantages in Microsoft Word or Google Documents.
