Personal qualities and professional skills
Personal qualities: Inductive Reasoning, Active Listening, Reading Comprehension Writing, Critical Thinking, Speaking, Active Learning, Coordination, Social Perceptiveness, Persuasion, Time Management, and others. All the items mentioned are the result of the hard work of the person on improving himself as a personality and could be reached through constant training that will take years. The rest of education and training is just a purification of the candidate of the so-called “human factor” and giving him the necessary experience in knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, democratic political processes. One of the most important parts of the activity of the detective is working with witnesses, accused, and complainants. The detective should have deep knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Another very important part of the work is observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Identifying objects, actions, and events — identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
