Introduction

Work is very important as it enables a person to earn a living and for this very reason I have chosen to discuss the topic on the importance of why every person in spite of level of education, training, skills, and background is entitled to do some work in order to earn his or her living. In most instances work is viewed as a activity that is performed by human beings to satisfy their needs and create services to the societies and unions. Work should therefore be acknowledged and rewarded by the employers.

The right to work can be described as the right to take part in bringing into existence and servicing activities of the human community in a society. Every person has the right to work under reasonable and acceptable conditions, and should have an equivalent pay for the same equal work done. All qualified employees are entitled to deliver their services in companies without necessarily paying that company any dues (Whitmyer, 1994, p.2).

Main body

It is right to take part in the benefits accumulated through these combined activities to the point that guarantees satisfactory standard of living. The right to work therefore should be in a way that everybody is included in the economic sphere. The type of work that many people engage in is dictated by the level of education, the skills acquired in the field of the job available, and the accessibility of the resources therefore work should be accessed to anybody who is willing to take it.

Every human being is entitled to enjoy the work they do for a living in spite of his level of education, color, religion, culture or state. Work is therefore a duty that we have to accomplish in order to survive and for this reason it wrong to deny any person what he or she is willing to do in life to make his living.

Thus, a conclusion can be made that work relates to the personal participation in the community or family responsibilities to protect their survival and well-being. The failure to participate in the welfare of the society is taken as a severe deprivation by the people who are not employed, which can result to social segregation and dissolution of personality.

The right to work dictates that all people have the human right to offer some kind of services and they should not be stopped from doing so. Every person should work depending on the gifts and abilities they possess in various types of works provided. Every worker has the right to decide whether to work with certain companies or not to work with that union, company or an institute if he or she is not willing to do so (Johnston, 2001, p. 198).

This essential right should protect forced membership or dues in any institution and in place provides choice. The right to work should not be only about taking part in any type of economic activity, it should involve the opportunity for everyone to choose and freely accept the work given to him or her in order to earn a living. The right to work dictates that work should not only be distributed to the workers but also the preference of how a person is willing to earn his or her living should also be considered.

The basic state obligation under the right to work should involve the country’s duty to honor, protect and accomplish each individual’s access to work and guarantee that the work available can be chosen or accepted. The countries should not destroy an individual’s opportunity to earn his or her living in their states just because they have set laws that govern the mode of employment. The right to work is concerned with the ability to access and offer services. Thus, the major concern should be for the people who cannot access any form of work.

The right to work should be classified as a basic human right (Harrison, 2009, p. 65). Additionally, all people should have access to free employment, favourable conditions of work, and be protected against any risks in employment. In every society there should be sufficient work for people who are seeking and willing to work (Ross, 2007, p.102). The employment bodies should come up with and maintain fair employment services to the workers.

They should provide and enhance training, provide free guidance to the workers to ensure the working environment that is conducive to every worker. In the countries where there are laws that govern the rights to work, many able people have been unfairly denied the chance to offer services and this has led to the increased rate of unemployment.

Unemployment does not only affect the unemployed person but also the economy of the affected countries. It is so unfortunate that the people who are not employed have unused skills and training which should be used for production and this is a great loss to the society and the country as a whole. If all the unemployed people are given jobs in their areas of specialization or where they are gainfully and willingly wishing to work, then the growth of the country’s economy and production can be positively realized. Unemployed people are entitled to payments that come from federal government, this is not right because that money that is given to them on monthly basis can be used in some others areas of production that can promote the economic well being of a country (Suthers, 2009, p. 53).

The unemployed people have no sources of income; this has led to the increased the levels of family breakdowns, uncontrolled consumption of alcohol, abuse of drugs and substance and sometimes some people commit suicide because of frustrations. If all those unemployed people are given jobs to do in spite of their education levels, training and skills then the increased rate of those increasing vices can be eradicated. In the cases where unemployment has lasted for a long period of time, great loss of skills is realized. These skills that are continuously being wasted should be identified and utilized in the development of a country’s economic growth.

People should not be denied the right to employment, this is because the unemployed people do not pay taxes and they spend less because the do not have enough money to buy more goods other than the basic requirements, this affects the economy of a country because the economy is highly boosted through taxes that come through spending, and that is the reason why all things are taxed (Gourevitch, 2007, p.517).

The people who have no work to do are not only affected as individuals, but their families and the society as a whole also suffer. Many people who have some family responsibilities and are jobless resolve to engage in crimes like stealing In order to earn their living. This can be stopped if such people are given a chance to work in any union of their choice. The individuals who are used to earn their living through employment are quite devastated when they lose their jobs, this is because they lose their identity and their source of income is terminated.

Conclusion

The countries that provide laws and rules that govern the right to work should do away with those rules because they have hindered many people who have potentials and skills to offer good services, from rendering the services which are of benefit to the growth of economy in a country and the world as a whole. More diverse job opportunities should be provided in order to raise the people’s standard of living.

The government should provide free training on the importance of self employment and provide enough facilities that are required to offer these job opportunities. The employment bodies should not discriminate and deny people the access to work because of their ethnic group, religion, tribe, gender, and social classes because there are so many jobless people are suffering due to lack of stable income generating jobs, to curb this unpleasant condition the states should put in place full, well equipped and very productive employment opportunities that are open to all people willing to do the jobs.
