Jeanson, Nathaniel. “Young-Earth Y Chromosome Clocks Confirm Known Post-Columbian Amerindian Population History and Suggest Pre-Columbian Population Replacement in the Americas.” Answers Research Journal vol. 13, 2020, pp. 23–33. Web.
The recent history of mankind presents a new field for testing evolution and the creation of a young Earth (YEC) against each other. Both models typically take the same set of events but make different predictions about the relative timing of those events. One such chain of events is the post-Columbian demographic collapse and recovery of American Indians.

In a creation-time-extended cosmology (such as that proposed by Humphreys, 1994 and Hartnett, 2007), one of the main problems is that the 14.7 billion year answer provided by the Big Bang community should not be accepted due to its false assumptions contradicting biblical history.
Carter, Rupert. “The Promises and Pitfalls of Correlating Y Chromosome Genetics to Human History.” Journal of Creation. vol. 36 no. 2, 2022, pp. 34-39.
The book generated a lot of interest in the creationist community, and for good reason. This is the first book of its kind. He has done a significant amount of research and has been recognized for his interesting hypotheses. Full Disclosure: Dr. Jeanson and I have had extensive discussions on these issues over the years. He let me preview one of the chapters before posting. We believe that the observations made in this review are for reliable peer-review only and are a good exercise in advancing various hypotheses.
Ham, Ken. “Young Earth Creation & the Gospel.” Answers in Genesis.
Many great men of God who are with the Lord now have believed in the old earth. Some of them explained the clear biblical teachings about the young earth in terms of the classical gap theory. Others have embraced epochal theories or positions, such as theistic evolution, the framework hypothesis, and gradual creation. The Bible clearly teaches that salvation depends on faith in Christ and does not require you to think about the age of the earth or the universe.
Longman, Tremper, 2018, Interpreting Genesis 1-11 with Tremper Longman, Web.
The non-traditional views of the days of Genesis 1 will be on Dr. Tremper Longman, III’s Theological History. Longman’s view is based on figurative language. He notes that he understands that God used a six-day work week to his creation. He also believed that the Flood narrative was hyperbolic language describing the Flood, based on a specific flood event to teach us the significance of who God really is.
This view interested me because Dr. Longman is still living and is able to talk about his beliefs in the way Genesis is depicted through the eyes of figurative speech. What really caught my attention was when Dr. Longman stated that science and Biblical texts are construed as both being true. Theological History is an emphasis on God and our relationship to him. God tells us important things as he is a God of grace and judgment and he has a plan for us (Longman, 2018).
