Hello and welcome to the announcement of our Presentation Crafting Scholarship winners!
We’re thrilled to share the results of this competition, but first, let’s dive into some exciting numbers from our debut year.
This being our first presentation scholarship, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect in terms of participation. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the response! We received 184 presentations from talented students across various disciplines and accepted 146 of them for evaluation. Unfortunately, we had to reject 38 works for various reasons: contest requirements not being met, wrong topic, plagiarism, or work format issues.
We’re incredibly grateful to all participants who brought their creativity and research skills to this brand-new competition!
Here’s a breakdown of the evaluation criteria we used:
- Content, Ideas, and Research – 20 points
- Grammar, Punctuation, and Spelling – 20 points
- Language and Style – 20 points
- Organization and Visual Appeal – 20 points
- Referencing Format – 20 points
The 146 presentations we evaluated had an average score of 65.2 points. Impressive work from everyone!
Now, without further ado, let’s announce this year’s winners!
1st place and the $1,000 prize go to Carissa Krystal Ng with the presentation “An In-Depth Look at the University of Waterloo,” which scored 79 points. Congratulations!
2nd place and the $500 prize go to Alexandra De Los Santos with the presentation “Research on Origins and Outcomes of Struggles at Columbia University,” which scored 78 points. Well done!
The competition was incredibly close this year, with both winning presentations demonstrating exceptional research depth, visual design, and clear communication of complex academic topics.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in IvyPanda’s Presentation Crafting Scholarship! Your submissions showcased remarkable creativity and academic rigor.
If you didn’t win this time, don’t worry: this is just the beginning! We’re already planning next year’s competitions, so keep an eye on our presentation contest and video contest pages for future opportunities to showcase your skills.
