Main body

Most of the successful organizations globally have embraced the interdisciplinary aspects within their workstations where employees from different departments have good relations. Good interdisciplinary relations within the organization enable the entity to have a team that values collective responsibility, allowing them to work together to achieve their goals and objectives (Ji & Yan, 2020). When one team is not performing to the required standards, the other teams in the firms will come to their rescue for the benefit of the institution (Shuffler et al., 2018). Some major cross-functional teams within an entity include the administrative, research and development, and customer service teams.

The administrative team is considered as the backbone, and a major asset of the organization since most of the decisions are made by them. One of the main roles of the administrative team is to acquire and utilize resources appropriately (Shuffler et al., 2018). The administrators also head various departments within the firm and are considered a major influence in their teams. The research and development team is also important since they ensure that the institution is on the right path by carrying out various market and product research (Ji & Yan, 2020). The customer service team is an effective part of the organization since they majorly interact with the customers of the business entity whose needs are the main concern of the company.

Team cohesion within an organization is an important factor since a unit that is divided cannot work to meet its set objective. When there is a lack of cohesion within a team, there is no flow of communication and resources which slows down the decision-making process (Shuffler et al., 2018). One important way to enhance team cohesion is by educating the employees on the benefits of working as a team (Ji & Yan, 2020). For example, the research and development team within an organization cannot deliver effectively if the individuals in the department conduct their research independently without consulting each other.

Various factors significantly help in ensuring the productivity of the teams within an organization. Team tasks and team-building initiatives are some of the major activities that ensure productivity from the organization’s employees (Ji & Yan, 2020). For example, organizing an outdoor team-building workshop aiming to educate the employees on the importance of enhancing teamwork in the company will positively impact their morale at work. Some of the effective measures and practices leaders can undertake to enhance high performance from their employees include a conducive working environment, satisfactory remuneration, and fairness at work (Ji & Yan, 2020). Motivation through promotions and training scholarships to increase knowledge are also some of the major ways to enhance high performance in a team.

Conclusion

In conclusion, quality team performance within an organization is a collective responsibility that requires every member of the group to participate. The major stakeholders within an organization play a major role in enhancing effective team leadership and cohesion by availing the required resources to the managers of various departments in the entity. The resources should be enough to develop and sustain the effectiveness of the human resource.
