Abstract

This main objective of this project is to design the salinity control system. This report describes the main steps taken by the team and the peculiarities of the new application. This system will be based on the relationship between the voltage and concentration of salt in the liquid.

This development of this application involved the use of the LabVIEW program which was important for describing the main variables. With the help of this program, it was possible to develop the formula and equations that will be important for the functioning of the control system.

These indicators play an important role in the design of this technology. Thus, we had to gather data about these indicators. Based on the research, it was possible to develop a mechanism that can regulate the concentration of salt in the liquid.

The project involved the use of National Instruments Labview Software which was extremely useful for identification of the formulas and equations that can describe the relationship between variables.

In turn, these equations can later be used for the development of the specific control system. These are some of the main aspects that can be identified. Apart from that, it is vital to mention the use of LabVIEW program.

This software application helped the team to determine the relationship between voltages and the concentration of salt. Apart from that, one can say that this application enabled the team to work out an algorithm which explains the functioning of the new application.

On the whole, one can say that the LabVIEW program was of great benefit to us since it helped us save both time and effort. This is one of the main arguments that can be put forward. As team members, we worked on other projects before, and we chose to work together on this assignment.

This form of cooperation was very convenient to use because we knew one another, and we could combine our skills. This is one of the factors that contributed to the effective work of the team.

We had to take several important steps. First of all, it was necessary to develop a Gantt chart that illustrates the schedule of the project and describes the work breakdown structure. This activity was vital for the productive work of the team, especially the monitoring of the progress.

This is why this step was critical. Additionally, the team held several discussions during which we examined the main components and functioning of the salinity control system. During these sessions, we tried to find the most effective approach to the design of the system.

In the course of this project, we took several steps that were essential for the completion of the project. For instance, much attention had to be paid to data gathering; during this stage, we needed to study the correlation between different salines and voltages.

These indicators were critical for the development of the control system. Thus, we had to spend a significant amount of time to graph this relationship and develop the formula. Apart from that, the team had to make a calibration that uses Data Acquisition Software or DAQ.

The PowerPoint presentation developed for this project reflects the scope of the project, the description of the salinity control system and its functioning. It is important for the visual representation of the future control system.

Apart from that, there were several challenges that the team had to overcome. The main issue was to develop a logarithmic equation of saline which is a function of voltage.

Moreover, we had to spend much time on integrating the components of this system, especially its software and hardware elements. These are the main stumbling blocks that had to be overcome.

Still, we were able to cope with these stumbling blocks. In turn, the most positive aspect is the ability of the team to coordinate the efforts of the participants. Moreover, we could avoid delays, and each participant could make a significant contribution. These are the main positive aspects.

The designed system includes such elements as a cylindrical acrylic plastic tank and magnetic stirring system. It will be possible to control the levels of salinity with the help of a gear pump. This technology will be based on the relationship between voltage and the concentration of salt.

This relationship between these variables will be at the core of this system. The control function will be based on the use of subprogram which will manipulate the concentration of salt in the liquid.

These are the main aspects that can be identified. Overall, this control system can be a useful tool for regulating the concentration of salts in the liquid, and it can be of great use to various professionals.

Conclusion

Overall, this project has demonstrated that the team should pay close attention to various aspects. In particular, one should focus on the ability of team members to incorporate hardware and software into a single entity.

The most important to the task is to ensure that the hardware functions according to the algorithm which we developed for this project. Apart from that, it will be necessary to focus on the interactions with contractors and other engineers.

We will need to explain the main functional characteristics of the control system and its peculiarities. It is important to monitor the performance of third-parties that could be involved in this project.

On the whole, the interaction will be important for the proper development of the salinity control system. While working with subcontractors, we should develop timelines and measurable goals according to which the control system can be evaluated.

By addressing these challenges, we can avoid many pitfalls. Apart from that, this project can be based on the work of several teams such as engineers and software designers. Thus, it will be vital to coordinate the efforts of subcontractors and engineers.

These are the main aspects that can be identified. Overall, this project demonstrates that the development of technologies requires the knowledge of different disciplines that can be related to applied science and management. This is one of the main issues that should be considered.
