In this article, Choi and Pak present an argument on the importance of avoiding bias while designing questionnaires for patients. The authors acquire data through investigations conducted within different medical establishments with the purpose of identifying all the possible forms of bias in questionnaires including bias in the way of designing questions, designing the questionnaire itself, and in the way of administrating the questionnaire. Their research focuses on such significant problems found in medical questionnaires as ambiguous questions, complex and lengthy questions, sensitive questions, technical jargon, uncommon and difficult words, and vague words. The findings of the article are of great value for my research topic which is “Preventing Chronicle Diseases” because, in my essay, I plan to address a few fields that are important in designing new strategies by the government medical institutions for improving the state of people’s health. The first field I plan to address is the administration of the results of research studies aiming to help prevent chronicle diseases. I will use the article as the basis for my conclusions regarding this field. To support my argument, I will make use of the quotation: “Bias in questionnaires is an important issue in public health research. To collect the most accurate data from respondents, investigators must understand and be able to prevent or at least minimize bias in the design of their questionnaires” (Choi and Pak 9); and will offer my conclusions based on this central statement. Then, I will make my proposal regarding particular issues that need to be addressed.

Dunet, David, Butterfoss, Fredric, Hamre, Robert, and Stephen Kuester. “Using the state plan index to evaluate the quality of state plans to prevent obesity and other chronic diseases”. Preventing Chronic Disease 2.2 (2005): 1-10. Print.

Dunet’s et al article presents an argument on the importance of planning in developing strategies for preventing chronicle diseases. This article seeks to define the measures which can be implemented in order to combat the spread of chronic diseases. The article discusses the results of the research conducted by a variety of specialists in the area of public health service including medical doctors, academic specialists, and theorists. The results of this research prove that planning is an essential part of developing preventive strategies in public health services. Planning strategies should be applied to guarantee the better use of federal recourses along with making the work of specialists in the area of public health elaborated and well-driven. I will make use of the findings of this article when I will address the second important field of preventing chronicle diseases. This field is planning. Planning is important for all the participants of the health care process beginning with doctors, and ending with nurses, and even, insurance workers. I will discuss a number of examples from this article showing how exactly planning is beneficial for improving the situation with chronicle diseases in Canada. I will also use this article to explain why planning is critical for the health care process. For instance, I will discuss possible results of setting equal standards for all the medical establishments in the country and will show why the set standards motivate the majority of doctors and nurses to provide better health care services for their patients.

Kitchen-Clarke, Lewis. “Accelerating Knowledge To Action: The Pan-Canadian Cancer Control Strategy.” Current Oncology 19.2 (2012): 70-77. Print.

The main purpose of this article is to sum up the information concerning practical methods which can be implemented in helping an individual prevent the development of a cancerous growth on a dangerous stadium, and create public health mechanisms assuring regular examination of people’s health. This article seeks to define the measures which can be utilized in order to provide mechanisms for regular intercourse of patients with their family doctors. It offers reliable information concerning irrelevant health care strategies leading to different problems including health care and legal issues. The author of the article discusses a row of varied types of practical interventions which can be applied in case the problem of misbalance in the health care system is observed. As I already mentioned, my topic is “Preventing Chronic Diseases”, and with regards to this fact, I am going to utilize the findings of this article to explain how medical specialists may improve health care practices in the field of medical supervision because it often happens that serious health problems are identified when it is too late. Cancer, which is a topic of the research in this article, is a bright example of the situations when people’s health could be improved, and even their lives could be saved, if the practice of obligatory regular medical supervision aiming to identify any harmful developments within the patient’s organism, would be utilized and regularly improved. I will also discuss a few real-life experiences from this article to support and render objectives for my position.
