Despite the original aim of producing the series of popular video games NBA 2K is a popularization of basketball among the representatives of the modern situation, the release of the series also focuses on advertising separate sport stars, which are pictured as the players in the NBA 2K games.

The purpose of introducing the NBA 2K video games embraces connecting the young public of gamers to the web reality of sport gaming, which prioritizes the culture of competitiveness and basketball attachment. The secondary goal of releasing the NBA 2K is attracting young people to sport life and recounting the main basketball figures in gaming (“Looking Back on NBA 2K: The Best Sports Game of the Last Generation” par. 6). The genre of the given pop culture artifact is video gaming. The series targets the public of teenagers and adult males, who have a special interest in sport engagement as well as active basketball players, who follow the games both in reality and virtual gaming.

The potential message of the NBA 2K concerns the idea of getting people involved in the basketball reality. Therefore, the game transmits the major sport news. The NBA 2K employs the figures of the popular basketball players. Therefore, the achievements of these people motivate people and encourage them to go in sports (Kelly par.7).

As a sportsman, I find the game inspirational and exciting. My first reaction to the NBA 2K was positive, and I undertook this video game with pleasure and excitement. With the help of the game, I learned how to master my skills through virtual reality. However, one can argue that the game may serve as a tool for manipulation and propaganda since it prioritizes certain basketball players over the others and shapes certain opinions about the given type of sport. That is why, I would recommend employing the NBA 2K with non-professional aims.

The NBA 2K represents an integration of sport propaganda and a popularization of basketball. According to the deduction of the place, which the game takes in sport life, it may be claimed that video gaming combines with reality.
