We ate Decorp have always considered current and past employees to be part of our work family. As such, we have taken great pains to insure that past employees who worked with the company for at least 20 years will continue to enjoy good health benefits courtesy of the company, a small thank you on our part for all the loyal and excellent years of service to the company. However, seven years ago, we switched 100% of our regular employees from open – ended insurance to health maintenance organizations (HMO’s) but kept the open-ended insurance for our retirees.
The high cost of such programs have forced us to shift the remaining 30 % of retirees from open-ended insurance to HMO services. Under the current open-ended insurance, there is a 20 % retiree and 80% employer share expense being shouldered by specified parties for limited insurance coverage. Under the HMO plan, our retirees will benefit from expanded medical coverage such as discounted doctor’s fees and 100% covered medical testing and hospitalization expenses. Paperwork is eliminated as the only thing retirees need to present in order to avail of the services at accredited medical facilities is the medical health card issued by the HMO. Retiree’s will only have to shoulder a small co-payment fee on the spot rather than having to file for reimbursement at a later date.
Under this simplified health plan, all your medical needs will be taken care of with little or no bother at all to you, and finding a physician to handle or specializing in your health concerns will no longer be a problem. The HMO has a listing of their accredited doctors who are all considered to be specialists and the one of the best in their fields of expertise. However, under the HMO plan, retirees who have personal physicians will have to transfer to HMO accredited doctors in order to continue to avail of the Decorp sponsored medical services.
We hope that the retirees will all avail of the new HMO plan that Decorp is offering in order to expedite their company sponsored and HMO enhanced medical needs whenever necessary. HMO doctors are paid a flat fee and always know that any medical services and facilities used by the retiree shall be paid in full every time. Therefore, retirees need not worry that the HMO doctor will be short changing them in terms of medical diagnosis and treatments.
We shall be conducting an HMO informational meeting next month for the currently listed company retirees and and of their concerned family members or friends in order to explain how the system will work for them and explain the various options available. We shall be holding the informational meeting daily , at 9:00 AM at the audio visual room on the 3rd floor of the Decorp Building. Please call 123-4567 from Monday to Friday to reserve your spot at the meeting on your chosen day. After the meeting, retirees will be receiving an HMO sign up card in the mail. Retirees are expected to return the card to Decorp by the end of 2 months, indicating their chosen HMO medical plan.
We look forward to reuniting with all the past employees at the Decorp HMO Informational meeting next month.
